I guess it always boils down to Emergent Content. The last bastion of the defeated. "At least we gave you something to do.". Defeated on all fronts it seems.

It boiled down to the profession of pirating not being really viable or fun anymore. It's kind of hard to be a group of pirates when pirating as it stands today is not as fun as it used to be. I'd hardly call it being defeated on all fronts when we offered 0 resistance for the last 5 months. This post could have and should have been earlier. IMO it took way to long to rid our group from the systems with the 0 effort we put into holding them. Most of our efforts were diverted to combating other PvP groups, we hardly touched a trader in the last few months.

And the tune changes. Activities are just a fun as you make them. Anyway, I'm impressed with how it all happened, and now it's over. I guess the DF's can use your help in the Power Challenge.

Group sits down, plays Texas Hold Em for a bit, gets bored leaves their chips on the table, other group comes along plays bridge, picks up chips.

About right ?

Aye, we tried our best to keep piracy fun and engaging, but it was not possible. Abandoning piracy just came naturally and was not something we decided to do. We found that engaging in wing combat to be more fun for our members. TBH I don't any of us will be participating in PP or the PP Challenge. You'll most likely find our members at CG's engaged in combat.

Not sure what you mean by the tune changes, but Piracy truly is a dead profession as the game stands now. It's on par of trying to hold an explorer group together when every single system has been scanned and explored fully. As far as emergent content goes, well you gotta be honest and say that we did indeed provide that as well as consume hours of game time from other CMDRs to expel us. Not trying to sugar coat anything here, but at the end of the day you all know who The Code are and hate us enough to mobilize multiple groups just to delete our name from a system.

Administrators??? Losing control of the systems has nothing to do with administration. I always thought that keeping control of a system involves political war, economic war, enforcement (i.e. bounty hunting), and oppression of rebellious factions. And from what I understood, The Code didn't actually conquer any system - they were granted a system upon request. Hardly what I'd call a "conquest".

It doesn't involve any of those things, it involves hours upon hours of extremely mundane activities whats amazing isn't that they lost it, its that they ever bothered in the first place -_-

Well, you always have that going for you.....

That's only the first chapter. ;) I appreciate the continued aggression. It means we are doing it right.

Our history has been well documented in these forums and other areas. We wrote our own narrative and you all ingested it. Where's yours?

I guess any attention is better than none. Aggression may be a bit off the mark, but make of what you will.

Indeed, we will make what we will, and I believe in this case Kewpa's intuition isn't off the mark, whatsoever. Freedom of expression is a great thing, isn't it?

...We actually had to run a lot of missions in order to take Orerre as well as expand. We managed to do so in conjunction with other groups grinding against us. It was a lot of PvE grinding for a group that mostly enjoyed PvP. That being said, we are very surprised it took this long as we haven't run missions or done anything in those systems for the last 5 months.

I stand corrected.

Breaking News: The Forum is still full of friendly cuddly bear-shaped things.

My prediction is that the forums will get fuller of this type of person..because the PvP crowd is learning that PvP although fun..has no reward other than pushing narratives/stories. It's sad because PvP could be so much more...other than an expensive hobby that takes to much time to recover from and has no real impact on the galaxy.

The devs felt that PvP was 'meaningful' in that death was a very high negative reward. When people have to re-grind their credits for hours to recover from this loss...it's obvious that most people will avoid PvP. Add to this that all rewarding content is PvE trophy collecting, and that PVP only gets in the way of this..again, does anyone wonder why people avoid PvP? Until it truly becomes rare?

Well, then the forum has definitely been heading down a precarious path. It's quite an echo-chamber for certain players as it is, and I don't see any signs of recovery so far.

It was fun playing the villain and even more fun to read about the horror stories about The Code. If only most of the CMDRs knew that the Boogie Man was actually a Teddy Bear. It's a dirty job, but someone has to play the antagonist in order for the protagonists to exist. We are more than happy to give groups of CMDRs something to band together against.

Yes, thanks for reminding us yet again that griefers/pirates are just here helping the rest of us out.

Some of us are still around and sorry to say we are more heartless and have less mercy than we used to. Some of us have abandoned The Code that we pledged our lives to. In lamens terms members still exist, but are more brutal and less forgiving than they used to be. If you hated us before, then you will not be pleased with the attitude of members not bound by The Code anymore.

:D Scawy, wery scawy. Thanks for the laugh. Hope you guys enjoy those other games you mentioned. No need to hurry back. One nice thing about being you is that you can brighten people's day just by going away.

Job well done to anyone who worked against the KO'd, assuming influence was lost due to player activity and not BGS bugs. Goodbye KO'd, and Good. g. Riddance.
