Am I the only one...

Who has never had a problem with interdiction?
You come on the forums and everyone always talks about how they are continually interdicted by AI, and yet Ive never had this problem.
I have been out of the bubble since mid-January, but even when I was there after 2.0 I had no trouble evading interdictions, even on Robigo runs!

It depends on the ship, in a Eagle,Cobra,FDL,Asp I find it very easy to evade an interdiction. Anaconda,Python,T9,Cutter it seems to be more about luck. The escape vector moves more slowly in larger ships, can be lined up perfectly yet still fails most of the time.

Nah, you're not.
NPCs interdicting can be evaded rather easily, unless desynch strikes.
However not keeping the eye on the scanner is a sure way to being interdicted,
as is being flagged for powerplay.

I suspect it depends on what you mean by 'a problem' - most of the time interdictions are not an issue. I had a couple of multiple interdictions yesterday. I was doing missions at the time and I expect these triggered the interdictions. Jumping out of the system and going back in cleared the first one. On the second I jumped out twice and on the 3rd one We were both in the no fire zone so the interdictor decided not to commit ritual npcicide ;-) I don't get interdicted on every mission flight but I look forward to the opportunity to have a punch-up with any NPC that interdicts - gives some more credits profit :)

Not having interdiction troubles here either, from NPCs or players as I play exclusively in open. I suspect some players are mission stacking and biting off more than they can "chew".

No, Im Cmdr Flash_Baggins

Not sure if you got it from that reply, just in case you haven't heard the joke there is a running one about a player in Bradford called CMDR Thrust that has pre-access to all the future content of the game.

Since you said after 2.1 and that update hasn't released yet I was joking but from your reply wanted to make sure :D I assume you meant 2.0 but it was funny to me :)

Well I typed out a nice reply but the system lost it so here is the Cliff Notes version.....

No problems here.

:D

Oh whoops :D
Its funny I wrote that, I was thinking specifically when writing it that I was gonna write 2.0 instead of 2.1 Somehow I still managed to do it
My bad :p

I've been interdicted a lot, and repeatedly by AI's but it has always made sense, like if I take a ton of missions, more npc's more interdictions?
Also the meet person at in space at x time apparently are not working, yet i've now done several of them with no problem at all.

I've been playing ED on and off since the first beta. Never had a problem with interdictions. I've always wondered what people are on about. Maybe it's just becuase I'm a trader with no real faction affiliations. Just out there doing my own thing and keeping my nose clean. The only thing that has ever annoyed me is players camping on outposts and blocking landing pads.

I used to have a problem with interdictions until someone mentioned that the lateral thrusters work during interdiction*. Now I can pretty much win most NPC interdictions, though I've adopted a "submit and destroy" protocol for anything smaller than a FAS.

Seriously? Thrusters work in hyperspace? Surely you jest. And anyway, how could you use them to advantage when trying to align with a constantly moving vector?

I'm up to 794 successfully completed Shadow delivery missions now, all whilst being pledged to ZH in powerplay, so I've had my fair share of interdictions. Along the way, I tried all sorts of strategies for dealing with them. I've had as many as six ships after me once I've been pulled out, but now I always do the same thing: Submit and boost. That's all you need to do until you get to the station. Often, after I've been pulled out, other ships drop in, usually arriving in front of me where I'm boosting, so I have to be ready to dodge them. To follow this strategy, you need some shields in case you boost into another ship, and the pirates will often get through two rings of your shields as they shoot at you while you're boosting away.

Hi, this is sort of on topic, but maybe a little off-topic too, so apologies if its in the wrong place. Was playing earlier today, in my little Cobra Mk3 doing a haulage mission transporting gold from X to Y, perfectly happy, trading away, going to new places, exploring blah blah. On my scanner i could see a character called Phazon, Mostly harmless, in an Anaconda. "Great" thinks I, hes 5000+ Ls behind me, he wont be able to catch me up...Ha ha says he, and promptly appears out of NOWHERE!! to perform an intercept on me.
what!!  think I, the little s-and-so was 5000+ behind me, now he's suddenly caught up with me ????...He intercepted me, and i submitted. But i have a top speed of 400 in my little Cobra, so i thought, lets get to normal space, and then i will simply outrun him. Great, plan worked- off i zipped with him disappearing behind me..jump back into hyperspace and he's gone off my scanner. Get to where i am going, the little B!"£$%^ is only SAT THERE WAITING FOR ME !!!!!!!!!!!!! i managed to get to the landing pad, but at one point he got less than 300m away from me, all the while threatening death, destruction etc etc. Thus i just managed to get to the bulletin board and complete the mission. On takeoff again, he's leaving the area fast, and disappears into hyperspace.
Can anyone tell me please, is this a "normal" level of intimidation on an interdiction? Cobra Vs Anaconda (not a fair fight, thought these were going to be modified), i'd have no chance.. This has happened to me before, but slightly different where i was intercepted and destroyed (again Cobra vs Anac), i bought my ship again at the last starport as you do, and i went back to where i was originally going to. Only to be intercepted AGAIN by the same guy as just before, and killed again. You would think you wouldn't get intercepted by the same NPC twice, wouldnt you?

And yes, i have known about the sideways thruster thing while being intercepted dont ask me how i found out or why it should work, but it helps to just bring your nose back into the evasion direction a little easier, at least it does for me.

When you do missions, you get these persistent NPCs that know a few tricks. There's a few ways to lose them. I don't want to spoil it for you, so I'll give you only two of them. First is to beat them in the mini-game. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again until you do. When you win, they're gone. Second is to get the feds or pirates involved, depending who's side you're on. Make sure you have "report crimes against" me switched on. If the pirate shoots you when there's a fed in the same instance after you've been hooked out, the Fed will stay to sort out the pirate. You have to keep an eye on the comms and radar to see if this scenario is likely.
