Logging on issues

Im having this issue too. All it does is says "logging on" with the loading circle and then "The game failed to communicate with the authentication server. Please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes." and my connection is flawless and i can play all my other games fine.

My game loads for a second. I can see my ship then I get kicked out saying can't reach transaction server or something like that. Only tried twice and gave up.

I too am having issues, I can log on but only stay long enough to make two jumps (if I'm lucky.) it doesn't seem to be on my end as other things have no problem and I cannot identify anything that causes the disconnects.

Got on. Played about 15 minutes and got kicked again. This time it said it was Xbox Live. But I'm watching Netflix just fine now so I dunno.

Are you talking about Open? Solo? CQC? I get kicked all the time in CQC but I've never been kicked out of the main game unless I'm on another app for a long time or my controller dies.

Been kicked from open and solo.

Hmm...interesting. People hate hearing "It's your internet" because sometimes there's actual problems with the servers, but FD isn't reporting any outages, in fact they seem just as confused as you are, given their response in this thread (Brett C). So maybe your provider is experiencing some downtime in your area to upgrade it or something malfunctioned.

It may depend on your location and it's relation to the Frontier servers. They're based in the UK, and I'm not going to ask for your location; you know where you are, it's easy for you to know if you're far away from them, enough to warrant server trouble, or if you're close. I live in the USA, East Coast in fact, so I'm right across the pond, so to speak, and I don't have trouble.

Maybe it's your internet, or your Xbox, or your Xbox's connection to the internet, or simply Xbox Live's servers in your area, we all know how reliable they are, after all.

It could very well be my internet. Just odd that I'm not having issues with anything else. Gunna leave my router and Xbox unplugged for half hour while I eat. Hopefully that helps.

Good luck with that. Hope it works for you.

ED -does- require more bandwidth than most games and services on Xbox. It's essentially an MMO in a persistent universe shared by both PC and Xbox players, so there's a lot of data to send to your Xbox, or more precisely, for your Xbox to load when starting the Main Game, which puts a strain on your internet, even in Solo Play.

Hi all, we've performed some quick server-side maintenance on the servers, it should hold off the issues for the time being. We'll be doing some more checks on the servers tomorrow into Friday just to make sure things do not decide to explode like a station obliterating your FdL. ;)

Hi, it's happening to me as well. I was on playing solo and open the morning of the 4th and I also got the no connection message... my connection appears ok with other games/apps.

So there was a problem on your end, or is this just a precaution? Either way thank you for looking into it and getting things in motion!

While I haven't had any issues this evening myself I wanted to say thanks Brett. Would you pass a thank you to the support team for their efforts?

Agreed. Many thanks. As I said, it could have been my end. But I've been playing an hour now with no issues. You guys rock! :)
