Bounty hunting non combat "ELITE COMBAT RANK LIVE PLAYER"?

I hate when my attacker runs away or combat logs.

What I don't consider a factor at all is the rank. The skills of the player are with the player. That means a competent pilot might have gained enough experience to outclass every Elite!
That may be true but having an elite combat rank means they at least have a little bit of combat experience vs a harmless pilot so you still should take into consideration being a bit more cautious. Just my five cents.

I'm another high ranking combat player that avoids all PvP. Just have no interest in trading shots with another player. Elite does not provide a good enough PvP experience for me to enjoy it. I have other games for that, and I play those when I want to make with the pew pew (though I would CQC if there was ever anybody there to have a match with).

I do find it amusing that someone would think I was shaking in my little space booties, though.

Wait til srvs are out on xbox, we get to have demolition derbies and "Pod racing" in the canyons LOL

yes and no.

Harmless is 1 thing. That means they have seen zero combat. But beyond that ranks are meaningless. All it means is lots of AI kills which dont translate well when determining a players skill Vs the crafty prey that is Man

Yes it happens a lot sadly. They kick butt in solo but when facing a real player they run and hide...it may be frustrating but as long as they don't log and just high wake away its fine. Cowardly but legit.

You can always pursue them if you want.

A) combat rank means precisely nothing

B) sometimes players just don't want to fight. Especially pvp.

C) jumping away from a battle where you would be at a disadvantage is a smart move.

Had a run in myself with some pvpers the other day. Enemy corvette Interdicted me. I stayed to fight for a while 1v1 corvette vs corvette and was getting the upper hand. Suddenly the enemy corvette joined a wing with 3 other players.

Figuring what was about to happen I retracted hardpoints and started to high wake. As my count down started 3 other players dropped in on my confirming my suspicions. End of the day I made the right call.

Cowards run.

What you did Sir, is what is known as a tactical retreat. Smart players make those types of decisions all the time. The dumb ones end up at the rebuy screen

A logical point, BUT, like another guy said it's all about numbers. You could grind a res site and shoot NPC's that spin on the spot or hit a comp nav beacon and do the same hitting all those elite eagles. The point is an NPC is nothing like a real player and a real Elite player might be as hopeless as the Elite NPC - until the update improves the AI.

There are plenty of reasons that a player would big out from fight, combat rank be damned. I've got a full weapons loadout on my 'conda, but if I've got a cargo hold full of gold, I'm getting out of there, no question about it. Or maybe they just didn't feel like a fight.

Honestly, OP, you're coming off in a worse light from this than the guy who ran, in my eyes.

Wow... Insults much.

If the guy runs, but not log, you have no right to get angry, salty, or just plain rude. It's legitimate game-play. Get over yourself.

Even when people play by the rules, it still seems the PvP-goons can't help but throw their toys outta' the pram.

Just... Wow.

One of the reasons I quit Open. I high-waked on somebody. Perfectly acceptable. Yet they still sent me a PM telling me to drink bleach. GG PvP crowd. -_-

Cowards run.

<Swear filter evasion> people play how they choose, there is no right way or wrong way to play this game, I've ran...could not be <more swearing> with a 3v1 fight, on THE sole basis I was heading to Hahn Gateway in Nanomam for some PP work, 3 times I was interdicted by the same 3 wing mob, 3 times I low waked to continue doing what I wanted to do, people run because they have more import things to do than face off against someone with an inferiority complex.

I think you guys sort of misunderstood the intent of that comment. I guess the blame is mine for expecting internet forums to grasp nuance

Personally I will often choose not to fight, even when I'm in a clearly superior position. Depends on my mood, what I'm doing at the time and how much the attacker is irritating me. It's no biggie really.

Don't you hate when you fighting an "ELITE combat PILOT" (real player) and they run away from you and I'm dangerous guess flight assist off

...Sometimes people have places to go and people to see. Mouths to feed and woman to please ;) .. Simply put.. Not everyone has time to be bothered by someone jumping on them sreaming "HIT ME" [yesnod].

With that said; I personaly enjoy the distraction at times, but not alwayes in the mood or mindset for it.

In short - you won.

(S)he knew they were beat, and just being destroyed serves no purpose for them. Knowing when to run is as important as knowing when to fight.

I don't know about that either, if you're just chest beating, then yeah. Though if you were after a bounty, you lose, because your earned nothing, same if you're wanting combat rank, or trying to stop them from influencing the bgs. All losses, especially in time spent. 90 percent of the time, attackin another player with any intent other than piracy serves no ingame purpose. Why attack a player for money, when NPC's will die faster and won't run? Trying to oppose some ones efforts to influence the bgs? Shooting them is the least cost effective solution, you merely inconvenience them without undoing their progress.

As far as the game is concerned, powerplay and piracy are the only times you get anything at all for attacking another player, and even then piracy is a joke.

PvE piracy is easier and more profitable.

If you want the bounty then why not follow them. Even a high-wake can be followed with a quick bit of thinking, alignment and sufficient range.

Sounds more like you were not a worthy opponent, seems they got bored and decided to let you live.

You need to become a better combat pilot if you are to offer a worthy challenge.

And the answer to that is high wake, low wake, high wake, and I'm gone with the wind. If you don't want your bounty claimed, it won't be claimed.
