Docking FAOFF.

Ok i did a few earlier, first time i tried faoff landings... hats off to anyone who regularly does it well. It gets so drifty/twitchy on a controller - lots of practise needed i think.
I dont exactly know how to post them here but they are too short anyway (only 1min) so i need to up the dvr limit and do a few more so can see the whole thing.

You're on my friend list dusty (gt is zubnut) so you can check the (end of the) three dodgy faoff ones from today if you like. The last one i did was a textbook landing with fa on just for comparison! But, there is no comparison!:D

Edit- i used a python to keep the challenge the same but im guessing its a lot easier with smaller ships?

Yes, with smaller ships is easier.

Still, for a first time its really not bad... I ended up on the wrong side of the station the first time.

When we have this under control, we try again without the auto rotation correction thingy.

That's was pretty impressive HOTAS or not . I bet you were gutted that you just missed a clean landing .

Ha! Oh the swearing when that happened...re-watched it and still think I'll make it :D

Slightly different challenge, I managed 2 lanes out of four for the 'Trench Run' the other night, was doing cart-wheels :)

Yes, a 'fail' o_O
No, not me
Yes...in an FDL :D

PC, using Xbox controller...

Very nicely done!

Haha.. Some really impressive flying there.

How deep does it go?

Not entirely sure...iirc when I tried 'that' once...just after seeing Jesse do it actually, I think I stumbled into a shaft that went a fair bit into the Station...will have a bimble tomorrow, see if I can find what I'm thinking of...now I'm back in the mood to fly :)

we were lucky because of control remap being available in PC since the beginning. you guys have to keep trying, then one day you will never go back to FA on.

We started earlier on PC, and it takes a bit of time, but I'm sure you guys have more merit doing it on Xbox than us!!

Just wow!

Amazing.. Always flying FA Off?

yes, after some time switching FA on seems boring and very slow paced. it looks impressive because of the boost, but not all landings are perfect, sometimes "things happen" and you don't want to kill other cmdrs because of speeding..

1% on a stealth build, and still FA OFF. Im impressed.. Haha.

Soon we can remap buttons as well. After that, im going to master it as well. Looks really fun to fly like that.

I'll happily assist you as much as I can!! makes ED a different game, keep trying, seriously!!

I tried to do this. Sadly, the result was me smacking into the station and nearly totalling my ship. It was just like that time I went flying after a heavy Lavian Brandy session.

To those who can dock with FA off - I salute you! o7

Cheers, guess I was a bit too confident leaving the dvr at 1min! Think the quickest one was still longer than yours. I made sure to start when not lined up first.

Wait, do what with the what now?

With Rotational correction off, you ship will not automaticly match the rotation speed once inside the station.. You can find it in your right systems panel... ;)

I did find in the station that it seemed trickier to manoeuvre on the pad and it kept bouncing me off at odd angles, maybe turning it off will help?? :)

I belived you could just unsure of if it's a slam onto the pad type of deal or a proper docking.

Which it certanly was. You're flying a Python Arne, not a Cutter. :p

Hey, it was a... rough landing..

My biggest ship is the Conda, but it was 200ly away.. next time im flying the Conda, i will try it again.

Not sure if i will ever buy me a Cutter since i have no real purpose for it.. if i buy it, its just for the collection..
