I used to be a huge, did I say huge?, I mean enormous fan of World of Tanks.
However Wargaming has decided that quick money is better then a loyal fanbase.
They are trying to squeeze every penny out of their customers as they can.
Game balance has been traded off for shiny stuff only to try and increase the numbers of new players.

FD, you're a great company the way you do things now, you're payed additions to ED are nice and their prices are spot on, nothing gamebraking and no ludicrous pricing.
Please, please stay that way, you're game ED is fantastic to say the least and your service equals that.
You've got me, and no doubt many others, as fans for life if you continue the way you're going right now.

I just had to get this off my chest, WoT used to be my favourite game, ED took that place when it came to the Xb1, Wot has been passed by many games by now and I just can't even think about how awful it would be if something like that would happen to FD and ED.

Have you ever played World of Tanks or been a fan of a certain game.
I used to be a fan of WoT but the game is being destroyed by marketing strategies and money grabbing.
I'm sad that I lost this game that I liked so much.
ED is even more my favourite game, I don't ever want something like that to happen to ED.
Not that I'm worried about FD or ED right now but loosing WoT this way is frustrating.

It's just something I had to get off my chest, there are more WoT players here and I think they have an idea what I'm talking about.

Their forum is the worst. Every other post is a b..tch and whine fest about other players buying the upgraded tanks and how its unfair for the true players, then flip it to complain about new players shouldnt have certain tanks because they dont want to play such an easy match. Didnt stay around there to long.

I dont blame you. All i ever heard in game chat was raging players lol. This game has a awesome community...unless your on the PC side that is. Those guys remind me of WoT forums [squeeeee]

You should remove that swear from your post, even though you left some letters out, that will still get you warned/an infraction around here. (trust me, I get warnings for made up words even...)

Elite will be nothing like WoT. Different business model, different ethos. Frontier are trying to make the very best game they can make; a game they want to play. Wargaming are maximising revenue above gameplay. They always have though, it's how their business model works. WoT wouldn't have worked as a retail model.

I agree, been playing tanks since release and have spent a hell of a long time grinding and currently have 13 tier tens, there only worth playing if you have a prem account. and if you have a bad game/team you can loose a lot of credits so sticking to medium tiers lvls is the viable option with a standard account. The only time I play now is for the beta as a supertester.

I used to play WoT a LOT, and put a lot of time and money into the game. The thing that ruined it for me wasn't the game itself, it was the fanbase. I spent a lot of time on the forums too and yeah, It used to be good. I think the turning point was close to xbox one release, where all these new people got on the game because of the marketing it got, and all the old players are whining about the new, and the new are whining about whatever they find too difficult. I think frontier know what they are doing here, and have no doubt that they will continue to do what we want as fans. Hell, they are the ones making Planet Coaster, and that game looks incredible! (specially compared to RCTW). I have a lot of faith in the game and FD.

I played WoT's from the beta and really enjoyed the game, but with no proper Team battles or Clan wars it's just turned into a grind.
I'm still lurking around with the Iron Pirates, but very rarely play any more

i agree. WOT used to be a really great game. especially when Prem ammo was only for gold and money wasn´t really an issue. Nowadays, all you got are crying kiddos who just spam prem ammo and whine about stuff is too op or too weak. I loved to play the german superheavies. But prem ammo ruins the game also.
Luckily, ED will never be this type of game. Sure you can buy stuff, but nothing that gives you a bonus in playing. Frontier will never walk down this dark path of, Money>more important>community.
Ed is perfect as it is.

I still play WoT quite often, only the crap teams have got me to the point were I just rain arty on everyone. Also I agree the WoT forum has gone to heck in a hand basket, if not further. --Momentai :3

Add more ships to Elite: Dangerous Arena, even unique ones not in the full game and make them come in different paints and such with varying stats. Make them cost a few bucks here and their and problem solved. They get a money making machine that is mostly pay to win. We get Elite Dangerous without the P2W bull .

I've quit playing WoT, the matchmaking is off the charts, without premium time it's nearly impossible to progress beyond tier 6 and WG's attitude has changed to a money grabbing stance since WoT for ps4 came out.
Game balance had been replaced by shiny stuff and expensive gotta haves.
I've got a pretty royal gaming budget for each month and I've spent a lot more then average on WoT, those funds get a complete different destination now FD being one of them, FD needs it and delivers a fantastic game without adding any pay to win stuff for ludicrous prices.

FD, please make paints for those ships that don't have them yet!!!!!!
