Could always stock up on some other wanted materials (quick look at the forum suggests soontil relics seem to have nearly vanished as of now) and do some "lost it out the airlock" trading. That way you can always point at someone else whenever 'em greenskins come knocking.
"Huh me? Naah, that dude shot your (half-buried) grandma, nono, i just sold her babies for a slightly warmer pulse laser, i'm sure you understand"
Might not work but you'd have a clean conscience and not broken your rule
