Rare Commodities List!

Obvious question first. You are sure you were in Cheranovsky City, Ngurii?
.
I wonder if they have made some rares rarer, so if too many CMDRs are buying them the supply dries up.
Otherwise, they may have changed the Soontil relics so that they are no longer a rare commodity, but have to be salvaged from the source - Soontil. If this is the case, the Soontil system isn't too far away (87ly)

there is nothing in soontil... a couple of icy bodies

hm. FD said something about changing something on rares... did anybody check whether other rares are effected? does reputation plays a role? I#m still 2,5 k ly out, can't check myself.

does reputation plays a role?
That would be a nice change.
I've been expecting something like this, so I've gradually been allying with some of the factions that sell rare goods.

I hope reputation doen't completely block most rare goods though, as new players just won't be bothered with rare goods.

rarest rare?

I picked these up last night :D

last night i did not find Esuseku Caviar (Esuseku system, Savinykh Orbital).
Also, dev's did something with a prices of rare commodity: for example buy price of Ochoeng Chillies (Ochoeng, Roddenberry Gateway) now 1468 (was 998). Don't know if they change not only price, but price calculation formula!

This is it?
[h=2]1.6 and The Engineers (2.1) update incoming[/h]Markets

- Rebalanced smuggling illegal commodities
- Each star system's current security levels now significantly affects buy & sell prices for legal and illegal commodities
- Significantly increased the effects of faction state on commodity markets availability and prices

That would be a nice change.

This would be really disappointing, making spending the evening doing a rares route a thing of the past. :( I have to invest most of my effort supporting my home minor factions' BGS efforts - I can't be working up rep in a dozen different systems just to get the various rares back.

just reading through the answers:

- some rares are available (ochoeng chilis), many aren't

- possible answers why:
a) faction state
b) minor faction reputation

it would be great, if everybody who sees a rare in 2.1. can post, when they see one + station controlling faction economic state + reputation

It is possible that some of the disappearing rares are because FD have made more rare goods illegal in some jurisdictions. But some of them don't make sense as illegal.
edit - ninja'd. but hardly a surprise as we had just been discussing this in game :D

same opinion here, not so much for me, but if availability would be tied to reputation, it would kill it as a starter activity.

if it would be tied to economic state not.

but first we have to understand, whether it isn't a bug.

i don't think so. esuseku caviar: food. ochoeng chilies: food. one reads available, one not.
