Freddy Foreshadow here: That Alliance listening post won't be there for much longer
I get the feeling the new defenses around the Barnacles are placed by the Alliance and that outpost is there to make sure everything is running smoothly, just far enough away that there is some plausible deniability as to their involvement. Perhaps it will turn out that the alliance put the barnacles there in the first place, or that they were behind the mass buying up of unknown artefacts and MAs.

So, there I was in Barnard's Loop (which I noticed, from the central "nodule", the rest of the "loop" is roughly centered 140LY away, coincidence?)
From that point I decided to venture out to the edge of the loop, which was just on the edge of the permit area. As I jumped, the game suddenly snapped out of hyperspace with a "Unrecoverable transaction server error",,, and I'm now 900LY from where I was, nearly back at Merope.
Surely, surely that's a bug?
EDIT: Scared the bejeezus out of me too.
2nd Edit: For the record, I still have all the exploration data I got while in there, so i've literally just shifted. I let a UA out in the nebula, still pointed to Merope

That could be very true. Get a leg up on the other 2 superpowers by experimenting with these artifacts, very interesting indeed. That begs the question though, why aren't the other two superpowers doing the same?

Wish I could, but my SRV blew up. I can maybe watch you have fun from where I landed.
Regarding the SRV blowing up, it blew up on its own as soon as I got next to the barnacle in Merope 5C. The Barnacle was already destroyed.
Was it a bug? Or did the barnacle have enough and decided to kill me?

With a hold of MA, while travelling between Deciat and Ngurii, while in SC I heard a fairly obvious buzzing sound with a little bit of oscillation.
I decided to wait till I got to Ngurii and finish my business before looking the system up from my EDD Route. When I arrived, I discovered to my horror that my log settings were incorrect, and nothing had been recorded.
I have gone back and tried to recreate the route, but it is clear that I cannot get the same route plotted. Many of the systems on the routes have no System Info, so I have never been there. However, I have obviously been in the area previously as many other systems that I know I have not been through today DO have System Info.
I will continue to look, but I would request that anyone else with an MA two, run the route to see if you can find the system. It was toward the middle or end of the route, no further than Col 285 Sector QD-K a38-3 (2 Python Jumps away)

I think this most likely has been reported before, but after 2 hours of searching, every of the barnacles I found drop a random metal or mineral except for Meta-Alloys. Scumming seems to change what minerals drop.
Silver, Cobalt, Painite, and Uraninite are the drops I've found up till now.
I guess this is intentional, and I might be missing something which I didn't find in this thread, but I find somewhat suspicious that a bug may cause meta-alloys to not spawn.
I'll go fot the benefit of the doubt and ask if there's something new I might have misunderstood or missed with the new update, in any case.
EDIT: It seems like the pool of random drops for barnacles is limited to the ones I've found, so it seems to be mostly intentional.
EDIT 2: It looks like some barnacles are bugged. These bugged barnacles look like they drop metaalloys (they have large bags on top of them), but drop materials instead. Apparently about 75% of the time there will be one of them.

I'm not asking for an ETA, but it would be great to know if it's worth waiting at the station, or if it's gonna take so long that you recommend us to go do other stuff?
Well said, I've been sat at Maia for 2 hours but still no sign of meta-alloys for sale. If it isn't going to be today I'd like to head off and do something game-useful.
+1, was there 15 min ago. Still no Meta Alloys.

Same. I have work in 40 minutes or so too so I'm not going to be too happy about wasting a day looking for meta alloys, then waiting for meta alloys
Especially if they're sold out by time i get back from work.
I'm being much less forgiving on this update as it was delayed so these sort of bugs should not have been present
I'd like to know too. At the moment we have "while you wait for us to fix something, here's something else for you to wait for instead." An ETA would make things less pointless.
