Not always, being interdicted and having your shields brought down before you even get up to top speed is not fixed by being more skilful. When you're then pummelled while powering up your FSD and disabled because your thrusters are targeted I'm not sure how you deal with that.

I just accepted and hope I can earn enough to upgrade shields and power before it happens again.

I disagree, you get your ass kicked in a fight, you learn how to fight better. It doesn't matter how, the NPC's are efficient at their combat ability, you aren't, pilot error is what is hurting you.

I miss the poimt: is this a game that al we can enjoy or is it a job that annoy us and we have to addapt and surpass ourselves?

Why cant we have, at least, the option to choose one option or another?

Ha ha, you whiners have been making similar predictions about Elite: Dangerous for going on a year now.
It's dying as we speak. Back when I first picked the game up about a year ago a lot more people played it. No mans sky is going to light a fire under FD's ass.

Well whatever Fdev decides im sure it will be towards the vocal minority, as it always is. We've been preaching, scratching for better AI since 1.3, but instead we're gonna get the shaft. I give up.

I just played in a stock sidewinder, as a complete newbie, for the last 3 hours......and had a total blast. Got killed once, as a result of my own hubris, but every other opponent I faced off against was of a very similar rank to my own (no higher than novice).

Annie immediately flicks it's rear out, FA off and turns rapidly to face me.
AI does not use FA Off. According to previous posts the AI pilots use thrusters to good effect.

Frankly, I hope AI never uses FA off. That's a level of challenge most pilots simply cannot match, including myself.

This is what happened to me, no skill involved in hightailing it, no reward either, so now I'm disappointed that that an OP AI can wipe me out, and not even have to choice to fight or run.

What a complete and utter load of garbage. Size shouldn't be the ultimate determinant in every combat. Your comment just sounds like another "<ship name> should be an instant win button" whine. No ship should give guaranteed victory, even against a smaller vessel. I am beginning to think that Elite: Dangerous is *not* the game for you.
Yes it should but that's for another discussion.

Nope, it's going to get better. :) Well, needs another balancing pass perhaps, more variety in tactics (to make mid ranks a little easier), and new skills for higher ranks to make them a little less predictable. :)

I guess we'll see the similar polls, but with "Too hard" and "Just right" results reversed.

An adder is supposed to be a transport for christ's sake. It's not supposed to be a match for an ASP. Never mind being "no pushover", it should be no threat.

As I precised, my ASP is in a long range mission/bubble exploration/transport configuration. Not combat fit.

Speaking one 3D HRP + intermediate hull + 3C bi-wave + 2x A boosters. The competent adder was no danger to me, but he was not flying like a total idiot either.
The deadly one was not a danger either, though he when through my weak shields and damaged my hull a bit. He was flying very well in his pirate adder, but still
it was an adder so the issue was never in question.

The dangerous Clipper on the other hand, I'm pretty sure I would have been in deep trouble. In 2.0 I would have been able to dispatch him ezpz.

.....and with that comment, you've just exposed your true motives here. You're just another troll who is labouring under the delusion that NMS or Star Citizen is going to be the game of your dreams. I suspect that, 2 months after you start playing the former, you'll be bored shirtless with it.

From what I've seen the AI/combat will be even harder in NMS. They have laser accuracy and infinitely spawning enemies.

The first Elite game broke all the rulebooks. Let its successor continue to do so.

If the game's still going next Spring, will you admit to being completely wrong?

Sure. I'll argue till I'm blue in the face but I can admit when I'm wrong. At the end of the day, this is all opinions and speculation. Nobody has posted a video, so we're just going on our personal experiences and saying others are wrong or right. Which I guess is human nature.

Precisely my point, if people waited a bit longer than a little under of 24 hours after a new update that completely overhauls the game, let's say a week down the line, and people have those modifications that the AI is supposedly "wrecking" you with, i doubt the complaints will be there. However just hopping in and facing something completely new when compared to the Old AI without even thinking of how to engage and beat this enemy is surely setting you up for failure, just like if you faced an actual player.

The funny part is that, i didn't even have beta.

edit: but after this post I give up on this thread

Anacondas have god shields, unless you buy them at the discount store, or don't know how to use an anaconda. Regardless an anaconda is a trader not a combat ship, try something else.
It's a multipurpose. And God shields? Yeah right. Pre 2.1 FAS's made my blood boil. So agile and had such strong hulls that getting them in your firing arc was hard enough. Destroying them? Even harder.

Hard to do in an Anaconda. Regardless of skill.
But easier to deal with then in a vulture, thanks to much stronger shields and SCBs and much more Armor should go everything wrong. Even with class 4 shields my conda did good in beta as long as I did stick to high and medium sec, for low sec and anarchy where no cops come to help class 6 shields did protect me always plenty good enough.
