Hardware & Technical Hardware -Nvidia GPU news

For UK peeps, 1080 founders edition listed on Scan and Overclockers. No real info, not even confirmed price, but assume if you have that sort of cash available, you might be able to pre-order.
I understand, but not looked, that Amazon also list but marked as sold out, nil stock.

These cards are very expected. This is a big jump forward

Overclocker's prices are here (open for pre-orders this coming Friday) and some of the prices are rather silly:

Saw this on the OC thread.

According to rumors, in a few months, the GTX 1060 will have the following characteristics: GPU GP106, 1280 computing units and a GDDR5 video memory of 4 or 8 GB interfaced in 256-bit. For less 300 euros

For me, what is coming in the £200~£250 bracket is of much more interest. I won't be going the VR route and I'd never justify to myself spending near £500 on a GPU. I'd rather put that money in my other hobby and buy a nice set of Zipp wheels. lol

So for me, what is coming that will give a big improvement over my R9 270 OC without costing a lot is more interesting than what is at the top of the tree.

A 1060 does sound nice but remember that some of the Maxwell tech wasn't available on the cheaper cards. So a 1060 or 1050 might not have the simultaneous multi-projection tech that is available on the 1070+ cards.
I'm getting the 1070. Definitely. :)

Very good reasoning. Buy what is necessary in connection with its needs

Oooh I don't know what to do... I have the money saved (been saving for a few months especially for this!) so that's not an issue. I'm really tempted to get the 1080 FE, even though it's more expensive. I initially wanted to wait for ASUS to release Strix, but ETA is unknown. It'll be OC'd, it'll have better cooling than FE, but then again, the single fan and the radiator on FE are apparently high-end as well. And I can always OC the card myself.

Shall I wait or shall I buy? I'm really hyped for this card, wanted it since the day I read about Pascal about 6 months ago.

HELP! :D

I don't think you'll be waiting long. Overclockers UK already have some of the custom cards in stock right now (not the Strix). Perhaps I'm missing something, but I really don't understand why anyone would want to buy the FE - you are paying for the privilege of owning the reference model and that's it, no other advantage that I can see. The AIB cards will be better in every way. And in some cases cheaper. Looking on the overclockers website I'm surprised how low some of the prices are for the custom cards.

Yeah, I know. I've just been waiting for so long and I've been saving money... It's just the hype :)

They're sold out for preordes anyway before I was able to get one anyway, so I'll have to wait regardless :p

Out of those I could find info on, the Card with the highest base clock (and boost) seems to be the ASUS Strix. It also seems to be one of the more expensive ones.
