When you get interdicted by harmless AI it is still VERY possible. Prove that it is impossible.
Also: I bet you that the guy I quoted does not fly a stock sidey..

Why is he trying to force you into a sidewinder anyways, not every person whos new to the combat aspect is a newb, someone could come from exploring and trading roots. You can choose what ever ship you want, just as long as you make it work. Combat is just another thing you have to learn, and it should be as the AI should be on scale with players, that way if you do ever eventually face players you will know how to handle that and not panic in a combat situation.

so, more or less:
I want the AI to be easy, so I can get a lot of CR killing it to buy a bigger ship to keep killing the AI.. which makes the new ship irrelevant as AI is already kille-able to get you to the big ship.

what is it that you want, exactly?

Because that is almost literally the point of the game?

Wrong. Point = entertainment.

Challenges are fine. Playing in a game in terror is not.

Do you dare cross the street in RL. You could actually die. Thats terrifying - not paying 5% rebuy in a Game..

OK fine. If I want to trade I can make money while almost falling asleep. I suppose I won't fall asleep now because I'll be busy not trying to die, while also making less money.

Exactly. Challenge. Welcome it.

Because I'm not the one defending a broken system that will completely stop new players from having fun and joining the game.

You're the one advocating for the slow, painful death of Elite by making the game so difficult new players can't join up with out a stupidly huge grind.

I'm only asking that the players who are saying the grind is OK experience the grind they try to handwave off.

I'm asking for you to take your own medicine.

And so far no one has put their money where their mouth is.

I am going back to eagle and 1k soon and really looking forward to it. Just want to check out the new bits and bobs 1st. I can't comment on cz as not done one yet however imo general gameplay is fine esp in hi security space.

Btw Elite has always been at its hardest at the start and get easier over time. 1,2 and 3 were. Why would 4 be different?

Personally I think the AI is now too difficult. I think they were far too easy before, but it's gone too far the other way to the point I now feel I have to avoid combat altogether, like when I first climbed in my Sidewinder!

I think the Devs have tried to make it so more people will wing up to take on big, tough ships. Which is fine except for me as most of the time I want to play on my own. So now I feel that combat/bounty hunting has been taken away from my in-game options, unless I want to just go steal police kills in high res or something...

I think my A-rated FDL with prismatic shields, and 5 A-type shield boosters, should be able to last longer than 30 seconds against 1 ship...even if it was an Anaconda. Sure, it should be difficult but, I didn't stand a chance at all. Not fun.

So for now I'll be flying without weapons as they're useless to me. Which, incidentally, makes many of the engineer upgrades equally useless...and the new 'vanilla' weapons!

Now did you guys increase the earnings for bounty hunting now that the NPCs are much harder?

The other problem isnt with NPCs being harder, the problem is that NPCs dont follow the same physics that players follow.

Hi all,

I want to start off that I have been playing the game only two weeks, and I absolutely loved it (Xbox PLayer here). Because I really didn't know all what to do (even though I read these forums pretty in depth) I found myself going to RES zones and cotton picking bounties off of Allied Wings. I played a lot for two weeks and got myself a Vulture. I allied myself with a faction and began to Undermine by killing allied ships of a different zone.
Then the update happened, and I got creamed twice in probably about 30 seconds to a minute of battle. Now I am fully aware I am not a decent pilot, I am completely new in fact. So I understand that optimal thing is to "get better" at piloting. The problem with that is, I am unable to. Anything I try to fight now shreds me or damages me so badly I have to go back to a port and lick my wounds after every dogfight. The battle system of the game is almost unplayable to me now (virtually is). I am an older guy without time to dedicate to practicing, and just wanted to enjoy the game.
But now, to me, this feels like work. I feel that the upgrade has made the game almost completely inaccessible to newer players. It is very unforgiving when you are trying to save up to a Type 7 or a Python to do trading, and you are constantly getting interdicted and blown up. I am not saying the AI is too hard, or needs to be changed per say, I am saying you have made the game cruelly unforgiving for newer players or subpar pilots without a particularly to enjoy several facets of the game. I was pretty stoked to join a faction and go into another power's zone to expand my faction's cause, but now I am limited to delivering something twice an hour, and it is just not enjoyable.

I really do not know the solution, I just wanted to say something from a newer player's point-of-view. The AI change has done a lot of good for your better pilots, but has really deflated the romance of newer players who are already struggling to just and try to understand the game.

(Still love Elite Dangerous, but I will not probably be picking up Horizons now)

No. The profits/hr go down - but the fun goes up. Trading was booooring in 2.0 bc no risk was invloved - not so now.

there was risk iv lost more T9 then i want to count an have had even more limp into the stations with busted window an 10% or less and now the trade clipper has now joined the that group.

new trade is is now an combat A rated FDL

Wrong. Point = entertainment.

Which is, apparently, what you personally define it to be. Any anyone else's definition is dumb and should be ignored and ridiculed and the game should only cater to your own personal definition of fun.

Oh c'mon. Sure there is risk in crossing the street, just as there is a risk that you'll choke to death on your next meal. But people aren't crossing the streat with the idea that they have a 1/3 chance of being killed by doing so. If they did they would never cross the street.

So you are trying to tell me that a games purpose is not entertainment but making imaginary credits? Are you trying to sell me a Bridge in Brooklin?

I trade just fine with my Python. In fact so fine that I will log back in and have some more fun.

Ouch, even the peak is poor, I expected low, but nowhere near that low!

Elite is a niche game if it wasn't they would not have needed a kser to get it going!. Only FD know if sales are enough or not.

What are the player numbers for dcs or ets2 ? (Genuinely no idea) but they are niche and get constant updates.

Also not everyone buys on steam!. I know I didnt

If anything it's niche means the hardcore are more important than some games as once they go...............

Try to 'team up' with security.

I did once, but then the ship decided to immediately attack me and it ended with the same result that I had to leave to repair. I thought that would be the answer like I did when I started out. Perhaps I should give it a few more tried or just burst fire my pulse lasers, but this is still not really teaching me how to fight, and the delay on the allied wings actually engaging something makes for a bit more of a boring experience for me personally.

There are countless Games where the chance of getting 'killed' is way higher then 30% at any given time...
