Hang on, let me turn this T9 around... one sec... one sec... any minute now...!

Ok, so you get the general gist of this thread from the title.
The turning speed on the T9....
It's ... well, to call it abysmal would be kind. Heh!

Now I'm not saying uber-vamp it... well, sure I would love that, but it ain't gonna happen... but on the off chance that FD don't improve it (Go on! I'll be your best friend..>!), I'm trying to think if there are ways of improving it with current changes.

First up - why?
Well, basically, because due to the literal impossibility to turn faster than milk on a lukewarm afternoon, I'm finding there's no point having anything but Turrets on the ship. You never even get to see your enemy. In fact, the last Cobra I fought died and I don't think I even saw it once for the entire fight duration! Heh!

Now... I'm currently rocking a 7B thrusters. I suppose I could go up to 7A, but I'm not convinced how much difference that would make. And let's be fair, for 51 Million?! It would have to make the dingdongdiddly ship turn on a flambustuous penny! Lol!
(You get my drift...)

So, what other options are there?
I suppose there is thrust-spinning, but the heat problems are pretty bad on the old bird and maxing out at around 200m/s doesn't get you much these days! :D

So I need some ideas.
Do you think the T9 could use a little spinning love? (Oh - It's perfectly ok to disagree. But let's try to be polite about it! We're all friends here! :p )

7B Thrusters is lot of weight for no reason, stick to 7D's. Even the 7A thrusters only provide a minor improvement. If FA-OFF didn't exist I wouldn't fly the T9, when engaging flight assist it feels like dragging the ship through a thick atmosphere, I only engage FA when cruising level over the surface of a planet, like an autopilot.

In supercruise all the ships perform as if they have max thruster ability, the T9 performs as if it has & 7A's, not a huge improvement, blue zone steering in SC is important.

In normal space you have to use FA-OFF to get the best out of it, use all thrusters. In a turn - I decelerate into the blue zone whilst applying full yaw through my pedals, roll into the direction of the turn and apply pitch to pull me through the turn, it makes a huge difference when done correctly. Same deal when flying the Cutter.

Bottom line - The T9 is Heavy, extremely unforgiving and requires a very focused flying method to get the best out of it, hence why many hate it with a passion & a few absolutely love it.

Hmmm.
Well I certainly don't hate it, myself. It's quirky and irritating at times.
But it's basically like a little brother...
I will happily batter it, drag it's name through the mud, and genebrally abuse it relenetlessly for it's many varied and wonderful flaws.

But if you insult it or shoot at it, I'll destroy you... Hehehe!

Heck, the T9 is France.... :D

Could be because he looks like Lenny Kravitz? Maybe he IS Lenny Kravitz?!? 777Driver, are you Lenny Kravitz?

OMG!
777Driver IS Lenny Kravitz!

I thought he looked familiar! :D

Bosh!

I thin'k its fine as is... tho this is coming from an Imperial Cutter owner...
The T9 is intended as a Space-Truck and nothing else. it needs enough handling to get thru the slot and enout tank/firepower to get to its desitination. no more, no less. if youd like more options spend a few hundred million CR and get a utility build for a 'conda or cutter. then you can fight, run, and haul!

We already have one enormous ahip that pitches absurdlly fast for its size (Anaconda), adding another wouldn't really be an improvement.

Big ships are meant to use turrets to deal with small ships. Turrets have been improved; small ones especially aare quite good now.

It's fine as it is. The T9 is what it is and it handles appropriately for what it is, in my opinion.

Noooooo.. I've had that comparison my entire adult life. I learnt to roll with it, still it's incredibly frustrating when random people on the street start calling you Lenny.

Lenny Kravitz is a poor man's Hendrix! :p

People can always Mod the T9 if they don't like the handling, I tried a few mods in Beta, it makes quite a big difference, I prefer how it handles with stock D7's, if I want speed I jump into another ship.

I was getting called Gary Barlow when I was younger...

but it was when he was "chubbier"... ^_^

There are two things you'll get with T9 that no other ship can give you.
First is the cockpit, which is, simply put, undoubtedly the best you can get.
Second is watching her take off and depart from the SRV. It's a feeling I will never grow tired of seeing.

Other than that, you do your best with what you've got. :)
