I'm sticking with my order for a Rift CV1. I ordered on the last day or pre-ordering, 28th March, and my expected ship date is 27th July to 4 August. So I'm about 1/2 way through my waiting period.

With a bit of luck it'll ship a bit earlier as dogbite suggests (not sure if Aussie shipments are going out early like the US ones).

I'm not in any super-great hurry - I'm waiting on the GTX 1080's to drift down a bit in price and the OEM (non-Founder's Edition) cards to make an appearance (yeah, not likely, I know), as I'm on a GTX780 now and a bit under-powered.

I just got my "your order will be shipping soon " email. Ya

Very nice!

Now that I got that same email, I've now moved into more anxious territory, "When will it ship?, I want to know NOW!". This is starting to feel like a group of stages similar to grieving, but for anticipation:

Stage 1 - Availability to Order/Pre-order
Stage 2 - Pre-order/Order
Stage 3 - Order Processed
Stage 4 - Shipment Notification
Stage 5 - Delivery

I'm sure I missed something, but o far, every stage is exhausting, at least for short periods of time. But now, it is worse because the wait is relatively short compared to waiting months.

I will give this to Oculus, when I sent an email support, they responded very quickly within the day. That was far faster than I thought.

Congrats mate. Given what I have read, you could receive shipping notice tomorrow. Depending on where you are, you should get it early next week. I'm in Canada and the Rft usually clears customs in 1 day, so I am hoping for middle of next week. Best birthday present ever. lol

My window is 13th to 23rd, so next week. Has been since they put the estimated times up.

Had no update or shipping notices :(

Have you tried contacting support? I don't know if it'll help, but it may be worth a try.

Thanks! I'm in the US, so hoping for a speedy delivery before the end of next week. My older brother and his family are coming to visit for a week next Friday, and he's as interested in tech like I am and interested in ED VR. He's also an ex-pilot for the Navy (jets and helicopters). Although my T-Flight Hotas X will not be up to par of what he's used to, it gives enough "feel" for immersion with VR. Now, all I need are rudder pedals..... :D

In the US you should be golden. I hope you have DCS for your brother to try. I am sure from the real pilot reactions I have read on DCS forums, your brother will be impressed. I have 4 helos and several other modules and I am stoked.

I assume you mean July by your posted dates. You may well hear tomorrow, if that's the case. My original order was Jan 11 and Mosait's was Mar 28 and we both got notified same day, so they are clearing the backlog at warp speed.

edit
This just in. Someone over on Reddit with a July 18-28 date just got his notice.

I keep hearing about DCS, but know little about it. Any recommendations for it regarding peripherals, or anything else? I've been so absorbed into space flight that I've barely peeked at the other sim stuff out there, except for roller coasters (I have No Limits 2).

Additionally, what I'm looking forward to is GVR, like the Samsung Entrim 4D. Although that means I would be back to putting on a pair of headphones again (unless Smasung and Oculus make a deal for GVR headsets to replace the stock Oculus headsets), it might be worth it for the "feel" of motion.

I use a Saitek x52 stick (non pro) with the magnet and tension mods https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=saitek+x52+mods and Saitek pro rudder pedals. Fairly inexpensive and had them for years. I also attached 2 Aura bass shakers https://www.amazon.ca/Aura-AST-2B-4...F8&qid=1465486662&sr=8-1&keywords=bass+shaker to my seat, driven with a Sony STRdh-130 amp (could hook up 2 more on this amp but 2 is good. Use a y-splitter off my soundcard to drive the amp. When I power up the Huey I feel like I am sitting in it. Great fun.

Dcs has the best pc flight model out there. When Eagle Dynamics developed the P51 as their 1st WW2 airplane they were asked why, being at the time they were doing more modern stuff. They said " because we own a real one and we wanted to see how close we could get." They got real close.

Thanks for the info. I've checked on the rudder pedals in the past. For some reason they have significantly risen in price over the past year. About 10 months ago they were about $140-$180. I kick myself for not getting them since they are now around $300 used. It may be time for me to move on from my Thrustmaster T-Hotas X. It'll have to wait after this recent Oculus purchase though.

Wow that's gouging. You could look at the CHPro https://www.amazon.ca/CH-Products-3...65490710&sr=8-3&keywords=saitek+rudder+pedals They're just as good and way cheaper. That is a Canadian price btw US http://www.amazon.com/CH-Products-P... pro pedals&qid=1465491494&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
