Well done on beating the BGS
The various federal forces I have friends in attempted last year to take over a system, bounced the system influence to 70%, got an election.......... which they totally failed to take over any station in the system even though they held influence at 60%+ for a week.*

Pity Fdev dont actually say in the player's handbook exactly how the BGS works, with what % triggers this and that event.........

We have a lot of intelligence on how it works now..... despite our assertions that there were bugs, in every single case there was a reason why. Blocking wars, all sorts! Now that we have detail on things, we can manipulate it how we want. When it came to the wars, instead of trying to control our 5 systems plus 6-8 others to make sure we were clear, we just controlled the one we wanted and rolled the dice each time regarding whether we were in the clear or not. We lost every time. Only got a handle on it when we properly studied what the factions were doing elsewhere and started working in those sectors too.
If there is any advice you need, we'd be more than happy to help - the only exception is - we will not assist any player group vs player group take-overs or hostility. The NPC's and their factions are fair game - players are not. (On that note, during this take over we deliberately ended up in a retreat state from Altair as it is "owned" by another player group and nuking them would NOT be cool.
