General / Off-Topic The ice floe could have totally melted by summer, 2017

:O

I didn't know there were still people who made that ridiculous and long discredited claim.
Oh dear. Have you looked at the moon; no one can see the stuff that was supposed to be left behind? Any photos of tyre tracks, moon buggies? Nope. They supposedly used the best camera technology of the time and yet, all we have got, is fuzzy films? Some things wrong there. Just saying. Next you will be telling me that JFK was not killed by his own secret service body guards.

Not saying your wrong about the moon (i don't know enough about the details but i lean to the idea that we did in fact go there), but no one will ever know for sure about JFK.

Since they faked the moon landings; I tend to take what NASA has to say, with a pinch of salt. What their study, does not take into account, is what is happening, under the ice, due to the warming of the water.

*shrug*

I wouldn't expect someone who believes NASA faked their moon landings to accept that global warming is real. But there was also a time when I wouldn't expect a non-theist to support the Flat-Earth hypothesis, but sure enough I've found plenty more of them. Then again, at one point I'd've never expected myself to be where I am either. Yet here we are.

Do you believe it's turtles all the way down? (Joke question there.)

The turtles are the work of fiction, I can go to my book shelf and read that. I am not advocating a flat earth theory, just that NASA has not always been entirely honest with us.

Oh dear indeed. Stuff like the reflectors that were left behind and have been used ever since to measure the distance from the Earth to the Moon you mean? This is basic stuff! Seriously, it's not worth even discussing. This is nonsense of Moon-is-made-of-cheese standard. Apply a little critical thinking to the "evidence" that it was faked, it'll do you good.

Or have a read of this.

Since you asked, here's a photo of tyre tracks, a "moon buggy" (LRV), etc.

I'm allready more educated just by the photo, but i'm sure deniers will just say it's all made up won't they ?

It was using critical thinking and not just being lead by popular opinion, that lead me to this concussion.

Well if it is on WIKI, then it must be true.

I am just wondering how long I can keep this going.

The more dedicated conspiracy theorists do, yeah, but there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that could convince people like that. More open, moderate and sensible people who just don't know much about it can realise the faked landing claims are ridiculous after a surprisingly short spell of research. The claims really are not worth considering.

That was just a convenient link to display the picture. You can find it in more trustworthy locations. Unless you don't trust NASA, of course.....

Oh, and it's not "being lead by popular opinion", it's being led by evidence.

The "we didn't land on the moon" theory wasn't necessarily stupid. It was quite an imaginative idea and I think worthy of some thought...after exploring it a little though and examining the arguments, they don't stand up of course. We did land on the moon, absolutely. My point however is that perhaps it's not what is being discussed that's most important - perhaps the most important thing is how it's discussed.

I haven't looked into the 9/11 conspiracies so it's difficult to comment.

Is that the royal 'we', the American 'we', or just the mankind, we?

I wanted to lighten the mood a bit; but then, no. I don't really trust NASA.

I have only one saying about this, all of your denial, and opinion.
Warning explicit material!

Don't take it personal, but i find funny when all the evidence right before our face, and all you need to do, to step out of your door in the middle of winter (what is non existing anymore) you run in denial, and act like an ostrich. because this is what man occasionally do. you belive in conspirator theories, you belive all of the end of the world stupidities year after year, but in the same time you deny climate change, and moon landing, in short? When the fact right in your face? You don't belive it.

Humankind is funny... :D
You either laugh at it, or die in to sorrow.

Yup. Moon landing, and climate change at the beginning worth to consider. Well... Not anymore. In one case, all the proofs and arguments are standing, and proven valid on the other? All of them is fallen, in the test.

9/11? Leave me be.

I think that because there has always been climate change, without man involved: E.G. a number of ice ages, before man came along. Those that, for whatever reason, wish to deny man's involvement at this time; will use change that happened 100,000s of years ago, as an example, that it can't be man's fault.

There are numerous independent indicators that climate change is occurring. Yes, climate change has always happened, but what's vastly different now is the rate of change. Absolutely anthropogenic.

We will die of hunger, of thirst, and epidemics, if we continue on this way
