I'm stranded! No way of plotting a route back

Hi

I have been doing the Exploration CG and was about to start plotting my course back to the CG system when i realised I couldn't plot a course anywhere. There are no systems appearing in my navigation panel and all i can do is go back and forth among 10 or so systems. No systems are appearing in my galaxy map either. I have an ASP with a jump range of 32 lyrs and I got where I am with no issue but can't even plot a course back to where I came from. Anyone seen this before? is it a bug?

I am at Wredguia SS-A C1-0 and there seems no way home

Have you filtered out certain star types in your galaxy map? If so, turn them all on. You might be able to get an extra jump or something that way.

Also, do you have the materials needed for an FSD Boost? I believe it's 2 Vanadium and 1 Germanium for a 25% boost, which can help greatly.

No, I don't have a boost available but it wouldn't help, all the systems that were there when I came here have gone. I have tried the filters, there's nothing I can do, I plot a course in any direction and it says "plot route failed" at first I thought I'd got to the sections that have been closed off for permits as I have read about people being stranded but it's not that. There are just no systems to jump to

plot one jump after the other into the right direction via galaxy map, till the route planner kicks back in. --- after logging off and restarting the game.

the system you are in is very much below the galactic plane (-1000), so star density is low.

if you go to the galaxy map, you'll see systems you can jump to.

always select the next single one into the right direction, till you find a way out (in your case: move up towards sol).

if this doesn't work: you can find the systems you came from, because you can select their system map. that is tedious, but you'll find a way back.

tip: if exploring the edges of the galactic plane, mark down the systems you jump to, at least some key systems - so you know how to get out.

My guess would be that you Jumped into a seperated Cluster and then Refueled there.
The ASP is incredible weak on weight.
Having a big Fuel Tank can make like 5 Light Years Difference for its Jumprange.
And as its not Cargo the Route Planner if used on low Fuel leads you through Jumps you cant do with a full Fueltank.

Try wasting some Fuel to get a bigger Jump Range again and then see if you can take a Route out of the Seperated Cluster.
Make sure to look for a closeby Refueling Sun BEFORE doing this of course. So you can fill up right away after leaving the Cluster.

Just made it back to Sol tonight from my trip to SAG A. I came across a few situations like this and I had to go backwards and re-plot. If you got there then there must be a way back. I recorded every check point on a bit of paper which did help.

Thanks for the help guys but I do think I am stuck, there are no systems I can manually select to jump one at a time, all i seem to be able to do is jump the same few systems back and forth. I'll sleep on it and try again tomorrow

No landable planets in the systems your in a level 1 boost uses fairly common materials? But as others have said if you got in you should be able to get out

Have you tried running the EDDiscovery program? Obviously won't work if you're on Xbox!

But if i remember correctly, I'm sure that when downloaded & run, it will list ALL the systems that you've visited since Horizon's launch date - not just from when you downloaded EDD.

That way it will list all your movements & that will give you a way back.

But as others suggested, I would think that you've been manually jumping on half empty tanks, which extends your jump range - so when you then try to plot back the route plotter won't accept the route because it only plots to a 'full tank' range.

Edit: Yes can confirm EDD has my systems plotted from 18/12/2015 - Horizon's launch.....I only downloaded & started using EDD part way though the DWE trip in Feb 2016.

On the route plotter page turn on the FSD boost, even if you can't use it it will still draw lines to the systems in range, if there are any. Maybe there are some which can be reached with almost no fuel, and the route plotter can't plot to those systems.

If you got there, you can certainly get back.
Don't panic.

That's basically the mechanism I used to get Nightstrider out the abyss... My 'conda had a slightly longer range than his Asp, so I was able to plot a route he couldn't see. The rare 'fume jump' plots he just didn't refuel for. I think he had one more j1 jump than me in the end. (and he didn't need that really... I found a longer multi-jump route that his j1 jump avoided)

you need to do the manual routeplotting VIA GALAXYMAP, not via left hand channel.

you need to mark the system you want to jump to with the orange marker, not via selecting route.

you can see where you can jump to in the galaxy map, and the way there - bright lines.

Using EDSM with either ED Discovery or ED Toolbox - NetLogs!

Hi,As has been indicated by others, if you use either of these ED tools (ED Discovery or ED Toolbox) you can load your netlogs into EDSM (https://www.edsm.net/) and ths will show you your route history (along with jmup ranges!) as it will load all of your netlogs! Defintely worth having running all the time to track your own movements... ED Toolbox: www.edtb.xyzEDDiscovery: http://edcodex.info/?m=tools&entry=10http://edcodex.info/?m=toolsHope that helps! Get in touch if you need help setting up to auto send flight data to EDSM....Susanna~~~~~~

Came across this last night couldn't plot a route to a star that was <10 ly from the last one in a small route. I'm a few thousand ly out from Beagle Point. I had to reverse back and take a detour. Will hopefully have better luck going forward tonight!

There are two simple, relevant facts here.

1) Systems do not disappear. Period.
2) If you can get to a system you can get back from it. It may require some fuel management, jumping on fumes, etc, but if you got there you can follow the reverse route back.

Try to download EDDiscovery, run it and have it pull your travel logs. Then follow your way back.
