What a sad day for all European, including Britons. I am afraid we will soon see GB falling apart by loosing Scotland and North Irland to Europe.
Soon we need to tear of the "Great" before Britain, the last reamins of the greatest Empire this world has seen so far.

I feel sorry for all the young people who wanted to remain part of the union.
Some Exit voters seem to have forgotten that the world has changed since the days of the British Empire.

I think the immigration rules will stay mostly the same.

Except the UK will no longer let people do silly stuff like claim child benefit and send it abroad and build a house in Poland with it (which the EU allows them to do). Or let foreign companies undercut the UK minimum wage by using imported "temporary" workers. Deporting foreign criminals will be much easier as well.

Whoa whoa whoa....it is legal in the EU for companies to pay a lower wage to imported workers?

What, did they look at the illegal worker issue in the US and say, "that's a good model, we should make a legal version of it"? So unbelievable I must be mistaken.

...

FWIW, I never thought the EU was a great idea. Just seemed like trying to band together different groups of people, with vastly different cultures and sometimes quite hostile histories, was always going to be an impossible task. I was honestly shocked with the casual disdain for other Europeans when I was spending some time between London, Bath and Bradford.

However, the head has grown large and there are many it can fall on if the neck breaks. I can only hope that a collapse of the EU, if that were to happen, does not end in violence or poverty.

Yes theres a loophole that allows companies based outside the UK to pay workers the minimum wage of their home country.

I dont know but i think it's not however there are other factors what make this legit. Lack of linguistic skills, knowledge, know how, ects, they are just handicapped.

And on the bright side, the FTSE closed up on the day.

With the main recipients of any kicking being the banks and the builders. Who knows we many even get back to a place where house prices are in reach of the youngsters. Without having to sign up with a dastardly banker for a lifetime of servitude - who probably wouldn't have the money to lend it anyway.

Wait, I'm confused is that good or bad?

I doubt it considering we've only begun to see the effects. Chances are youngsters'll be earning less, out of work and let's hope nobody gets sick.

You see...it is crap like this that tells me that fair trade agreements are a must have. Unfortunately, those agreements are usually determined by bankers and the largest employers (i.e. those with the most lobbying power). All of whom have a vested interest in paying people as little money as possible.

76% of british law where made in Brussels by unelected dictatorial idiots.

globalism is a fail and good to see it fall.

dont worry i still kill you guys ingame. :)

Yeah. I may be a bit salty over all this. My dad is a manager in a relatively high position and incredible worried about the Brexit.

Another point is that nationalistic or xenophobic mindsets don't fit into an age of globalization. And a good part of the Brexit was driven by xenophobia.

I'm sure some people voted for Brexit because they hate foreigners but it's entirely possible to not support the idea of a federal EU super state without being xenophobic or anti globalisation.

I'm not even particularly nationalistic and I'm certainly not xenophobic - I married an EU immigrant - most of my extended family live in the EU and most of the people we socialise with daily/weekly are not English.

I don't have problem with legal immigration.

I do have a problem when people tell me how I should think/behave and/or insinuate that I'm racist or xenophobic or some kind of immoral sub-human because I think forcing people into federal EU is only ever going to cause problems.

The idea that you can't trade with, mix with, get on with other countries as an independent country is entirely false and illogical.

.. Well I hope you know that lots of ancestors of Britain came from Angel and Sax... which came from Germany & Denmark. Angel is included in the name "England". And I guess that Angel and Sax had a very different culture than the natives at that time. And they were very aggressive to the natives at that time if I remember correctly... :)

.. as well consisted Germany of hundreds of duchies and counties and were very aggressive against each other.

.. or take India, a country in which more than 50 native languages are spoken!

At the end... all people have very similar pleasures and fears.
And lots of the younger poeple in Britain are now fearing for their future!
Great job indeed!

Going along that route, we all came from a few humans in Africa.

No, I mean the divisions created by old and established cultures. Humans have not evolved beyond their tribal natures, yet.

The US has enough trouble keeping the South and the rest of the country bound together. Those differences mostly come down to socio-economic and political status. Whereas when I look at Europe, I see much tougher differences to overcome. Of course, this is all from my far away vantage point in the very middle of the US.

I am afraid that soon you will only see the white/red flag fluttering in the wind at least when Scotland and NI will leave GB for Europe which will clearly happen.
Today we saw beginning of the end of The Union Jack.
