Hats off to Ecthelion and Patau great work people. watching the video now, is it me or does this one sound well.. Female when it howls.
Fire fly look like they go further as well.
So have we managed to get both a UA and a UP together yet?
And does the UP degrade the UA proof racks?

Orbital testing - did we do this with UAs? Drop them in low orbit and follow them down to the ground?

The testing site question - I spent some time last night looking for a convoy, not to steal the UP, but to see where it might wake out to. Will continue this for a bit.

I did it, but the UA degraded too quickly duing the fall, so I spent some time in SC waiting for a floating UA to spawn 'in orbit', it kept falling forever, nothing happened after 20 minutes (real minutes).

I'm doing the same, will just follow one to see what it does.

We lost it :( After filming it for 10 minutes on the ground, it vanished after scooping it. It said it was retrieved too. So there's a bug. But we got to test some stuff. I'll post videos later.

Ouch sorry you lost it, perhaps FD will furninsh you with a brand new one... or did it jump.
Shame but perhaps there is something else on 5c we are missing so not a total waste.

I'm fascinated but also concerned about what might happen if someone actually manages to initiate an interaction between them. Hope it doesn't trigger something like a massive signal pulse into space, 2001-style, and preferably not beaming out "Those stupid biscuit-eating monkey things are here, come and get them" :D

Yeah, we tried to see if it pointed to a specific location. Didn't seems so. Looked like it pointed straight to the core of the planet. It was another commander who scooped it (in our wing), and we saw it got scooped. So probably some bug. Since we scooped it fine a bit earlier on the planet.

Could probably try to file a bug report.

If the Probes point towards Merope still, I think it's entirely possible that there is a second bubble, still centered on Merope, but possibly much farther out.

Guys you're AWESOME, I came back from the beach, and found this gift! ;)
Merope 5c is the place: we need to scour the whole surface, inch by inch, because it's there that we'll find the next step/hint.
Some Alien ship? Who knows...

Anyway, the UP sound is interesting, the very sparse Howls are awesome and creepy, more creepy that the UA's. There is no morse at all.
This one is not scanning, or drawing: it is a pointer, and it is pointing.
Let's go to Merope 5c, then.

Ecthelion is getting the video together but in the meantime I've got some screenshots. We tested the UP near merope star, over Merope 5 and around Merope 5c multiple times. We got tests in ground side, one including 10 minutes of clean audio. After retrieving the UP with my SRV after the 10 minute clean audio i received the "cargo secure" message but, moments later when I checked my actual cargo it was not there.

Thanks to Pat for trusting me with multiple scoops of the UP. Shame the SRV did it in thanks to the bug :(.
