No. That was a different system. Merope 5c was the first barnacle found. And no one found another one afterwards, despite the fact that tons of people have looked all over. We have found two since coming back here. There might be more.

UP at Merope 5c surface
Here's the video of the UP at the Merope 5c surface. There seems to be some ambient music on the planet, even though I turned the ingame music off. Anyway, the wails seems to be a little different from eachother, like there's two kinds of them happening. And you can clearly see it light up when it wails.
As you know, the probe was lost after it was scooped - it was retrieved but it never appeared in the cargo hold (got cargo secured message). We were talking about putting both the UA and the UP beside eachother on the planet and also maybe find out if you can turn the ambient sound effects off (I think you can, but I'm not ingame atm.) - guess that'll be with the next probe!
Would be cool if there was coordinates in the sounds from the probe - coordinates to something on Merope 5c

Just some speculation again:
What if the UA is genetically modified thargoid device that has been modified by (possibly Federation) to track thargoid signals? UA's didnt originally point to Merope, they may have started to do that a bit later since they may have been modified by (possibly by Federation) to home in to (possibly thargoid) signals. They soon also discovered that Merope is the system, but they didnt know where in the system to look for the origin of signals, so they (possibly Federation again) needed to modify (improve) UA and thats how they came up with the new improved UA (unknown probe). Modified to track signals much more accurately than UA, they too know now that the origin is on Merope 5c...
I'm also moving on to Merope 5c tomorrow.. there clearly must be something there [yesnod] And congrats on new Barnacle discoveries on Merope 5c.

This might seem a bit insane, But in the context of this, is it worth throwing up a 360*360 grid spreadsheet (or more correctly, a -180 to 180 lat and 0-360 long) spreadsheet, and people start filling out grid-squares they've searched. Although still a large amount, 129000 is still much less than billions, and we can spread out over a larger area and not double-over the same areas?

I am now able to scan the Barnacle Itself (not the spikes). But it says that the data is corrupted. May it be that we need the unknown probe to scan it?

The feds seems to be the owner of the probe and are trying to take it to "site B". Maybe this B site is the "secured" Barnacle 'test site' on Merope 5A which now has turrets and skimmers by the way...

I'm heading to Merope 2A to check if I can scan an intact barnacle and get a result.
I was able to do this last week at Merope 2A. Scanned the central part but data was corrupted. I ask on here if that was strange but no one replied so I just thought....whatever then haha
I think UP and UA are clues to where to look... Pointers... I am sure they have another storyline reason to exist but I think you guys may be overthinking some things. I think Merope 5C needs to be searched very well. I highly doubt you can do much with them but I am all for experimenting, but I think the priority should be searching the planet.
If it's corrupt and this probe is pointing to where the first barnacle was found then yes, it's definitely worth trying to scan a barnacle with a probe on board. Certainly it's one of the simplest things to try in addition to flying 5c

Great find guys - I think it might be worth trying it at various altitudes and coordinates, just in case the targetting is more precise than the center of the planet.
Either way, I'm prepared to bring my SRV to the party.
