It does not count automatically. Ppl should sign up for their faction AND SEPP. Every ton will count towards SEPP and the other faction. So no loss.

Each side also has partisans inspired by their works but not necessarily in the demesne of their leadership. There are those supporting the factions that have given up unaware that doing so is now pointless. Either that, or those are the entirety of the allies doublebooked with themselves and SEPP, but they don't have the numbers they would have if they were fighting for themselves, meaning less of a boost.

Looking at the results, it depends how much we want to keep the new power in the anglosphere: The glorious chariot of SEPP gains nothing if pulled by a bunch of knackered old geldings whose best days are past them, but it's up to the faction if they'd prefer the undoubted pulling power of the dangerous-looking thoroughbred stallion instead.

Per capita for EG is about 32t currently. Definitely achievable with enough effort from enough players in the amount of time provided so far. I think they're just perhaps more focused. [blah]

Honestly, I would have thought there would have been more support for SEPP from the exploration community. Not the sort of thing many of them want to do I suspect and others seem to prefer to look for conflicts of interest and dishonest tactics from SEPP, if not just thinking they're misguided. In the end though, I think most explorers likely don't believe in Powerplay as a worthwhile endeavor, even to help out their fellow explorers.

A lot of the community on the forums has soured.
