Getting Tired of This...

Ever since the A.I upgrade, I can't escape or win a fight with a pirate in my trading outfited Anaconda. My shields are down before I can even regain control after an interdiction, and I'm dead in seconds. I can't win, and I can't escape. I'm dead long before the FSD kicks back in.

Normally I'd just brush it off and continue on, but I've lost like 40 million credits now. I can't even make my losses back through trading before another A.I. in a Fed Assault Ship blows me to pieces. It's just loss after loss. I understand that this is a "living" galaxy, and "Don't fly what you can't afford", yada yada. I get it. But I've died like 8 times in a row now before I could make back the losses from the previous death. The A.I. is using cheap tactics. I play in Solo Play mode to AVOID at       like this. I just enjoy cruising along my trade routes. If I wanted to do combat, I'd be in a vulture.

I want to be reimbursed. I didn't have any problems avoiding the A.I. before now.

What is your current loadout?

What is your pattern after interdiction?

Escape is possible but you gotta be prepared and know what to do.

EDIT: If I can trade in my T9 with few and far between losses, you can do it in an Annie.

I hope that gets the point across... think this is the fifth thread I've said it in now...

Anaconda has eight weapons hardpoints. My trading T6 has two and it can hold off a Deadly FAS.

Stop losing interdictions. Submit, boost, full pips to shields (run a reasonable shield size), start corkscrewing with lateral thrusters and boost and charge your FSD. Nobody will be able to take your shields down in the time it takes you to do that unless you're running undersized shields.

I would advise fitting a shield putting 4 pips in it and not flying in a straight line, or seeing one of the other 200 threads were advice is given on the exceeding simple things you need to do never to have trouble with interdictions.

Here's the thread about shield boosters:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/272760-Shield-booster-modifications-are-amazing

You can mod shield boosters with higher resistance, so even say an A5 shield + around 4-6 shield boosters gives you a HUGE shield.
You can literally take full fire from an Elite Anaconda for about 2 minutes until it breaks.
Even better if you sacrifice the size 7 slot - 7D Shield Generator + SBs -> have a potty break after interdiction and then still wake out without a scratch.

OP, your loadout in an Annie will have a HUGE effect on your survivability.

A 200 million CR 'Conda is not going to be very survivable. Double that for a sturdy build which can fight back. Invest in hull armor and a good shield generator.

If you are in a power play faction leave it that will half interdiction's. Try to stay in high security systems with lots of police and report crimes turned on the police now go ham in the right areas.

ALways submit if they pull you out your FSD takes ages to work again. Make sure you boost and chaff away when you submit!

+1

They aren't necessary to survive, but they can give you a precious few more seconds when using shock mines. I have two c2 mines and the rest shock mines on my T9...it has proven quite helpful but have also made me a little too bold.

Efficient escape is still the best policy.

Running with cargo racks in every compartment possible and the smallest shield (to squeeze more cargo space) just doesn't cut it any more. A "trade" build must incrporate decent defenses and countermeasures to have any hope of surviving, even in solo.

The AI was broken , and still is currently.
Its been made better , but its still very dumb and easy.

When you are in a trade ship you need to focus on running away.

To me it sounds like you dont have good engines or protection.
Maybe you need to remove some of your cargo for something more defencive.

Its all about adaptation , look for what you are doing wrong and fix it , maybe its a matter of training , pip management , bluezone and FA/OFF training.

"I've died like 8 times in a row now before I could make back the losses from the previous death."

Exactly this is the way of play all these whiners about rage-quitting want to see. This is exactly the problem I told them but they are not interested in understanding this. If everyone would for sure die again and again, flying big ships would be impossible for most of us because we would be unable to make enough credits to afford the next insurance pay. Nethertheless these whiners about rage quitting think this is the way of play that gives them the most fun. Nobody knows why. Probably some sort of brain-logging. :D

The problem is not with the game it is with the players unwilling to learn any of the fundamentals of playing the game.

I fly a stripped down anaconda with 5d shields and a small thrusters and still have no problem at all with any interdictions. Maybe try and improve before telling FD to ruin the game for any one with a clue how to play.

I just got an Anaconda 2 weeks ago and it's only D-rated and prepared for trading AND I was totally not used to fly the ship. I never, ever can't escape a pirate, even in that crappy loadout. The A.I. got so simple, just boost and whooosh! done.

If you can't submit and high-wake away in an Annie, you are doing something wrong. Why are you even fighting the interdictions in a trading Annie?

I think somebody should just create one post to copypaste to every thread of this type. They are pretty much all the same.
So...
case 1: trading.
1. You build is probably ******. You can't fly without any defenses and almost no shields anymore. AI isn't braindead anymore. try creating new one on edshipyard.com
2. Don't fight interdictions. Slow down to 0, wait for submition. After jumping out select closest system and jump.
3. You probably don't menage pips: always put 4 pips to shields and 2 to engines when running.

case 2: fighting.
1. Get smaller ship ( eagle? ) and try to fight in it. It will teach you some skills.
2. Your build is probably crap. Always use best possible shields and best engines, if you can't afford them: Switch to smaller ship. Pulses and multicannons are best weapons, but there are some nice builds out there. If you don't have money to afford dying while testing them then stick to pulses/multicannons.
3. Don't fight interdictions, always submit. if enemy is too powerful jump to another system.
4. Do pips menagement. 4 pips in shields and 2 in engines if you run, remember that if you run multicannons you can put a lot of pips into shields or engines. Energy weapons need a lot of capactor energy.
5. Do you see this blue part of thrust bar? Keep your speed in it while dogfighting. It will give you best agility.
6. Use flight assist off. It's very hard to use so learn it using small ships. Otherwise you will kill yourself.
7. Energy weapons are good versus shields, kinnetic are good versus hull. Large/huge multicannons are a bit OP versus both things.

case 3: exploring/smuggling.
1. Look at chat. if you see any messages like "Oh, look! motherload of biowaste! I WANT IT BECAUSE I'M STUPID AI!" ( not quite same but you know what I mean ) after jumping out of witchspace approach sun and stay near it, AI will most likely crash into it.
2. If they interdict you look at case 1.2.
3. If you're smuggling get best engines possible and don't try to fight.
4. When docking with illegal cargo be fast and remember: They sometimes scan you inside station, but it's rare. 99% of the time you're safe after entering it.
5. When returning from exploration ask for escort. There are a lot of players who will help you.

Now, I'm sure it can be copypasted in every similar thread. They can't be merged anyway because people create accounts just to write those posts and don't care if similar ones exist.
Edit: thankfully I copied this post before clicking post quick reply because forum died...

If you see any thread similar to this just quote this post.
