Very interesting! The threaten timer extension is a great idea!

The second point in the quote, is that across the entire board? Will AI ships never look to interdict those on their own level? Will Deadly and Elite ranked commanders never get interdicted? That makes it more dangerous, which is pretty darn cool.

No it means that they will not interdict ships below x range than their own. This mean that they can (and will) attack ships of their ranks and above.

I stopped playing a few weeks after Enginees hit after about a week of grind searching planets for materials really started to annoy me. Decided to wait for inevitable updates and was pleased to see this and was looking forward to returning:

- We will be adjusting the way the surface scanner works to allow you to see what materials are available from any given planet. This should make locating materials far easier. (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/268658-The-Engineers-(2-1)-feedback-and-planned-updates )

Seems not in this patch, oh well, I can wait another month or so...

But the "solution" is now you get 3 materials instead of 1...

I don't see the surface scanner detailing materials on a body.

No. That's the one thing I wanted above all else, which was explicitly stated as being in this update. Getting 3 materials instead of 1 (already nerfed from 5 I see...) is fine but having to land on 200 planets, then drive round them until you find a few metallic meteorites to shoot to find out what very rare element the planet has, before discovering that yet again it isn't the one you're looking for, is not fine at all.

I'm seriously annoyed, don't promise us stuff if you can't deliver it.

"When collecting physical micro resources or retrieving data loot, add 5 to the inventory instead of 1. If your inventory can't fit 5, just add enough to fill the inventory"

While I appreciate the tweaks to the engineer recipes and materials, this means that I will have to spend even more time discarding useless resources from my inventory while mining. Currently I'm throwing away 100-150 resources per mining trip, in the future my drones will collect 500-750 trash resources which will constantly fill up my inventory limit of 1000 (I currently have about 800 of the resources I actually want to keep, so that leaves about 200 free space for trash and other materials I haven't found yet). So I would really welcome some storage other than my inventory OR the option to set the materials/resources I actually want my drones to collect.

FDev can I have an answer to the question of clarifying what is meant by Thermal weapons balance?

obviously not. seems like they want to keep us in the dark on this one. guess we have to wait until we can test this.

all in all this patch is quite disappointing. the engineer RNG was not addressed, we still can't scan planets to see what materials they have and we still cannot store commodities in a station so we can swap to ships with zero cargo space. these were the things i was looking for the most. maybe in another patch..

Engineers Blueprints Materials Update[/h]
Greetings Commanders.

You may remember recently that we shared some plans and changes that will be making their way to our next point release (2.1.05) as a direct response to your feedback, thank you again.

You can read the full post here. But as a reminder, the changes included are...

- Adjusting the way the surface scanner works to allow you to see what materials are available from any given planet. This should make locating materials far easier.
- Making a number of changes to the lowest level blueprints. This includes improving the positive effects of low level upgrade results as well as reducing the cost and simplifying the materials needed.
- Increasing the number of units you get for each instance of a material you find. This means instead of getting one unit of a material, you will get multiple units of that material. This will allow you to increase the number of attempts at each Engineer.
- Increasing the number of materials spawned when surface mining. Again, to make the process easier and the materials easier to gather.
- The likelihood of finding rare materials in these instances will also be increased, meaning it will be easier to use higher level blueprints.
- And we will be reviewing the balance and locations of non-planet salvage and reviewing the possible USS locations for each material

Ahead of this update we wanted to share the rebalancing that has been done to the materials required for blueprints to give you information ahead of time so that those of you searching for materials can factor this into your collecting and gameplay.

You can see a full list of the new blueprints requirements that will be added in the next point update (2.1.05) by downloading it from the link below.

This point release is still being finalised and we’re hoping to give more details on the exact date in the next couple of weeks. :D

Thanks again for your continued support and patience.

Fly safe Commanders.

EDIT: The information in this sheet shows changes to the materials needed in blueprints. These are not the complete blueprints, you will still need commodities for rank 2 blueprints and above.

Still no turret mode remember last fix yet?
It HAS to be what, only 1 line of code to look at? 6 months now...?? Are they trolling?

Thanks !!

No im gonna say no, as frontier are aware of the engineers issues and storage and nav scanner update, even they did say it was coming around about this time, so frontier do confuse us poor players at times, ok most of the time, lets hope they announce the bigger update very soon, before no man's sky gets here...and I'm off to eye candy world :)
