Ok, so, I'm going to throw a variation of my "It's not necessarily something to be dissected with mathematics" theory out for perusal. Earlier, I suggested that the image was three panels, each one containing pictograms that could be read as instructions. Here's what I'd like folks to consider:

The sphere is a pictogram and the four line/dot symbols around it are steps. What does the sphere remind you of? Well, I think it reminds me of the nav-target sphere on the HUD:

I've heard several folks say that the "fuzz" around the sphere was intentional and not an artifact of embedding the image in the sound. Well, when you engage the FSD, the target on your HUD flashes not unlike the fuzz around the sphere in the spectrograph.
I had also previously suggested that the two arcs in the upper right of the diagram could represent honking the ADS.
Based on some of the community theories of how to interpret the four symbols as binary, if you look at the quadrants in the order: Lower Right, Upper Left, Upper Right, Lower Left you could possibly interpret the instructions as:
1) Set nav destination
2) Engage FSD
3) Honk ADS
4) Show up somewhere
So, first off, I perused the first post and I couldn't see anywhere that someone tried honking with their FSD engaged. If that has in fact happened, then mea culpa and I'll go back into the weeds to let my eyes continue bleeding. I do know that you can honk while the FSD is engaged, but I'm extremely unlikely to ever wind up in the presence of a UP
It may be oooooooh so much bloody-eyed, lack-of-sleep induced hooey, but at least it is testable. The question is what to set your nav destination to... Merope 5 and 5C seem like good candidates.
Any thoughts, or should I just go and try to get some sleep?
