Im a smuggler, a ghost, im sneaky, i can fight a single spaceship if i need to. I'd rather get the hell out..

But fighting a Elite convoy, is suicide my friend.. What i can do is snatch the UP, and get the hell out, hell, they might didn't even notice me doing it..

But fighting, a whole convoy, that's not for me.. lol
Not planning on fighting, plan is ramming the Python 'till it's far enough from the convoy, then a second guy attracts the attention of the convoy while I Hatch Breaker Limpet the heck out of the Python and a third person scoops the UP while I fight the Python. Alternatively I'll just fight off the Python and get the UP before the rest of the convoy comes.

Thing is, you can lower the health of any of those ships to 1% by ramming and won't get shot

You don't take on the whole convoy. You follow it, until the ship with it jumps, use a wake scanner to follow it, interdict it so there are fewer ships to deal with.

The Feds building outpost in HIP 17225 ,
Planet A1 mensioned as known barnacle location.(Maybe to the Feds) .. First located barnacle. -33.2579 140.3470 http://imgur.com/a/2S3f9
Theres more out there it sounds like.http://imgur.com/a/2S3f9 http://imgur.com/a/2S3f9

Also rethink the criteria for barnies,, 1.42 g maybe the highest so far.. and also opens up many other planets as possibilities!.. i've seen many i've discounted due to high G!

Fantastic! Great to see one outside the expected criteria too!

I'm just saying people shouldn't fell they've been offered their hat because their computer isn't good enough, they're in a rural area or something. I genuinely believe we're just missing things for being too obvious.

This exactly sums it up for me.

Dont be discouraged if you are not the sharpest tool in the shed, or if you only have an Xbox and a pen and paper. Still plenty for us to do. Remember it has never actually been proven that sound analysis or spectograph images are necessary for us to move forward. Sure those clues are there and can be helpful in understanding what we have in front of us, that's true. But there are also clues in galnet, in forums, in newsletters, noc comma chatter etc the list goes on. Dont let being unable to test something discourage.

At the very least, we learn something new about the cosmos, that by itself I reward enough for me to keep trying. Curiosity should never be lost due to not being able to find an answer, if anything it should compel us to try harder. Some people here might just brush you off, insult, and ignore. Yes they look down their noses at the simple man, whether intentional or not. But there are the odd couple that always give their criticism in a helpful constructive way, those are the people I listen to and try to learn from.

I'm not an expert in anything, I am merely a student of the universe and I always will be. My desire to learn can never be quenched. Feeling dumb to me is just my minds way of saying "much still to learn there is" (yes sometimes my brain speaks in yoda voice).

Sorry, not really helpful to the thread I guess but I left my last post maybe giving the wrong impression of what I thought about external tools etc. and wanted to try to explain better what I meant.

One last thing to hopefully give inspiration to any in a boat similar to mine - Some of the greatest minds in the history of humankind were ridiculed, these are the lucky ones. Some were imprisoned, tortured and put to death. Because they dared to question. Because they believed something they could not prove due to lack of tools, or what the found to be true did not conform with who was in charge at the time. We could always have it worse than we do now, so lets just all enjoy the learning :)

Interesting that it's also destroyed though, assuming that these haven't been found by players before. Though there's a possibility they have hence the wording in the article.

Lol.. really?

I had no clue.. So as long as you dont use lasers you are ok?

Those UP convoys, how tough are they ?

I'd be interested in knowing the number and type of ships escorting the python carrying ths stuff.

Just to know what I'm getting into. (and if I need to bring friends).

You can attack the cargo hatch and it will eject. NHE-Red!

---

NHE-Red is when you destroy the transport - soz. There appears to be no code for when you jsut break open their hatch.

Yes, you have to stock up on patience. Lots and lots of patience...and some coffee.

in my day we used to hunt UA with out these new fangled safety measure.

All Commanders.

I feel like it is my duty to say this to you before its too late. I would heartily recommend that each and every commander visits the Engineers. Make you're ship strong, nasty and nimble. Cargo isn't an issue here. Have at least one ship ready to run from unknown hostiles.

There is a distinct possibility that we will ALL need to run to safety. After seeing the build-up towards Merope Militarily and the rate that things are progressing at... I honestly think that some brave souls will need to make the long trip back to the bubble to further investigate the mystery of the UA's and UP's.

We have a new rendezvous point in Jaques if it gets really nasty. However, travelling there in a 17ly ship is not going to be pleasant. So prepare yourselves.

Its good to be prepared. And Ol Gypsy? where will he be? Right behind you. All the way. YOU HAVE MY BACK COMMANDERS. Ill be there when no one else is.

It really is something to remember. Even though WE might want to make first contact- what are the other idiots going to do? The powers that be? They aren't us... And they might make a mistake far greater than us blowing up barnacles.

I would recommend a large strike force of mean Vultures - as they have the manoeuvrability and firepower to take on unknown hostiles. Backed up by Condas and Pythons. Its certainly something to think about.

Okay, now I am definetly not going to read posts from this guy anymore.

WANTED: Research based on facts and serious CMDRs.
