Hold onto it for now. I live in hope that somewhere down the track they will make it so that providing higher quality/rarer materials than what is asked for will give you a better upgrade outcome.

Except that there were already plenty of ways in which non-combat pilots could evade combat. Simply nerfing the NPC's will simply lead to a situation where we should simply call the game Elite: Farmville.

Frontier has the hard task of satisfying combat nerds without accidentally booting everyone else from the game via merciless NPC-attacks. Last time they stepped too hard into one direction, now they've dialled combat back into the other direction a bit. A "nerf" did not happen.

Also thanks for missing the point of my post: I'm well aware that I can avoid combat, I had a problem with not being able to fight if I wanted to, since I couldn't beat anything over Sidewinder/Hauler-level.

It wasn't yesterday when I logged in...?

I can assure you it was fixed with the latest update 2.1.05. tested last night in game and in CZ. All good now!

Does that mean that an NPC eagle can no longer shoot down my thrusters on a vulture from the front with 3 shots???

What are you on about? I am answering the guys who said that the Turrets always going to 'Fire at Will' was not fixed, which it is. I have no idea what you are on about my Friend!

Thanks for the fixes and improvements.

What Cmdr Wasp0 said .. I can confirm, also being a turreteer, fixed.

Planet material scan obviously a great add, I was just having a look at filters on the galaxy map too, that thing's getting really sophisticated. Loving it.

Having a couple of suggestion, that I'd like to see only as and when, just QoL observations really;

# a link to view location, in galaxy map, of active community goals viewed from mission board
# something persistent on HUD giving police / security of area you're flying through (high, medium, no cops)
# when buying trade data, to see that add to list (imported from / exported to) in commodities market

Not a lot beside that though plus this was a really good patch. Noticing optimisations, smoother loads, on my pedal powered laptop game machine. +1 FD

It's in NPCs, so i'd say NPCs cannot target subsystems anymore.

So the question is, is that *all* NPC's, or is it only lower ranked NPC's who can't target sub-systems?

I see no reason why an NPC of Expert rank or higher shouldn't be able to target sub-systems.

So sad to think that MoM's beautiful creation is slowly being vandalised beyond recognition :-/.

Beware, cowardly NPCs! The FAS is coming back!

Join you in that my friend, My Muckinics are at this moment, dusting down the Battle FAS, Changing the oil, Topping up the Fridge, servicing the coffee machine and tweaking the engine and weapon system ready for some................. NPC Killin! ;)

Is everyones engineers requirements the same? Or is it user specific/randomly generated?

Todd Blaster guy was offering an upgrade to my lasers if I could find a 'something something Firmware Upgrade'. I forget precisely what it was, but I spent hours and hours trying/hoping to find it somewhere in wrecks and given for missions and USS - but nothing found.

Now today I look at the blueprint and it has changed to Nickel. Is this the same for everybody? Seems to be one extreme to another.

I'm hardly a "combat nerd", but I bought Elite: Dangerous in the belief that it would be dangerous.....not an easy walk in the park. Also, when I consider how hard SJA worked to make the NPC's better, it really ticks me off that her hard work keeps getting vandalised for the sake of keeping a vocal minority happy.

Yes, all Blue-print requirements have been downgraded from where they were pre 2.1.05.

Changed for everyone! Check this site for an updated list of all the new changes in Engineers Upgrades. http://inara.cz/galaxy-engineers

All I can say is now the engineers upgrades are now far, far to easy. Ships might as well come buffed out of the box...
Really, finding some of the rares was too difficult and time consuming. Engineer upgrades needed some minor tweaking and little less rng.
Soon, Very Soon, everyone will have their ships modified to their liking and will rarely need the engineers except when they buy an new ship.
As you well know. Its hard to put the gini back into the bottle...
