I've seen the images from 4km and below not sure about 8km but if your using 4K it should be better. Apologies if I said messages, I'm no xenolinguist I just see shapes and weird things there. Is say check around the previous coords I gave. I don't have that paper with me currently.

I just sent my idea off to Cody...

Hello Cody,

Riz@l72 on the Frontier forum said that you're interested in any stories or opinions regarding Unknown Probe (UP) theories.

The first observation I had was that each corner around the "globe" seemed to be a binary number. When these numbers were converted to decimal, they gave us 3,1,4 and 2. The first 4 digits of pi, the relationship of a circle's diameter to it's circumference. The globe also gives us a full circle (circumference), a radius, an arc and a sector... all aspects of circle geometry.

However, my own pet theory was that the globe is a map of the galaxy. Centre represents Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the centre of the galaxy. The 2 spokes to the lower left represent direction towards the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. The arc to the upper left represents the quadrant of the galaxy that we're currently within. The radius in the lower right represents the direction and range from centre of where the UP came from. I've attached the image I used to illustrate my suggestion.

I can't prove it. It seems a stretch, but no worse than it representing a pizza!

Yeah, if you expand that image you can see the same type of shade borders in the other image. I'd say this is just an artifact of the draw method.
Yeah I can see the shade borders as well, but on my pc monitor there seems to be a lot of "noise". Probably resolution change. Idk. Thanks for reformatting

Was that from 8km? And what were the coordinates? I'd say try take from 8 then 4 then 2. The images were more inside the canyon on the floor.

Man, am I the only one that thinks this is dragging on a bit now, FD have been watching you guys trawl over this data for weeks now and have hardly said a word about it.

I remember posting something similar WAY back with the discovery of the first UAs. In fact I think I did a poll along the lines of "If there was no mystery to solve, would you want to know?". I seem to remember the result being a 60:40 split in favour of not wanting to know. My guess is that FD are watching and are taking the view that as long as people are enjoying the chase (even if they're on completely the wrong track or if there's nothing further to be uncovered at this stage) then why spoil the fun. We've past the 5000 post mark in this one thread alone so I guess this "mystery" is still keeping a fair number of people engaged.

Of course, in real life science there is nobody to ask "are we on the right track?" nor even any definite affirmation that our discoveries are in fact correct, just a strong sense that the theories fit all currently available evidence and can predict results which, when tested, turn out to work. I guess the irritation here is that we know that FD exist *1 and could reveal the ultimate truth (or at least steer us towards it) if only they could be persuaded to do so!

*1 or do they? :D

these are not Merope. Yes, they are 8 km up. 16 4k images. I didn't add coordinates because I wanted to get the composite method down first. Their was a lot of cleanup to get rid of the photo edge lines. Its not perfect. This is a test composite on another planet, what methods need more refinement. I'm wondering if non 4k at 4km would be sufficient. I really just want to make a map of Merope 5c. By the time that gets done, however, the answer may be found. Would still be a good project

Ok just asking because I didn't see anything that matches what I saw previously, even trying to up the contrast didn't bring out the lines and symbols I was seeing on 5c. Thank you very much though for checking.

I couldn't be bothered to reply to Mr Doom and Soon(TM) but you've summed it up quite well. We're over 70,000 posts in all the threads combined now and yet people still feel the need to wander in and complain things aren't moving fast enough, rather than letting people enjoy part of the game.

The only thing I'd disagree with you on is that it isn't an irritation ;) we know how the relationship works with MB and we're happy with it :D

Agreed. My bigger concern is that those that wander in and complain are alienating (pun intended) both FD and the long-standing members of these threads and causing them to move to other avenues like discord :( There is a marked difference in the people actively "contributing" to this thread now as there was 5 months - a year ago and it saddens me. I have seen this before. I don't think this thread was prepared for the attention it's been receiving, whatever that means.
