I demand an answer for this disconnection issue

From the FD game support site- What router settings do I need to connect to multiplayer?

In order to support Multiplayer, Elite Dangerous requires a UDP port forwarded, to and from, the internet. For most modern routers, Elite Dangerous attempts to use Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), so this should work by default for the majority of our players. First check to see if the UPnP feature is enabled on your router, and turn it on if it isn’t.

However, if your router, firewall or security software does not support UPnP, or you prefer to configure the port manually, then you'll need to configure the port forwarding, and then tell Elite Dangerous where it is on the internet and which UDP port it should use.

It could be the router configuration but if it works at all then I would be suspicious. Surely, if it wasn't configured properly the game wouldn't connect at all? I suspect it's either bad equipment, bad cables, or a bad line.

I suppose it could also be contention issues or a problem at the ISP's end but these are less likely.

i just see it repeating with my email, some stuff i dont understand then something finished and then closing, over and over and over.

Open a ticket with Support and include that logfile. They may need more information, and ask you to set up more complete logging, try to play for a bit, and then send them more logs.

It's probably nothing we can fix from here, unfortunately.

FWIW, after 2.1 I suffered from a lot of disconnects. Eventually I tried the fixed port config rather than UPnP (across two routers), and they went away. At some point near a weekend they came back. I checked my IP address, and it had changed. Updated my port forward rule and boom, went away again. If you haven't done it yet, try port forwarding.

OP... seriously. Go HERE.

And follow the instructions. It will be the quickest way to see if it is game related, connection related or machine related.
Demanding instant fixes are petty and meaningless.

For the purpose of this discussion, the Ping test that measures packet loss and jitter is far more important.

http://www.pingtest.net/

https://i.gyazo.com/d5cb5b2e95dd354ef03663348c6ed490.png that was the server in milan italy. Ive got another question, if i can connect to Eruope and russian servers with upward of 200 ping in other games, why dont i disconnect more than 1 time? And fyi that disconnect is when my ISP decides to be evil incarnate and doesnt let any of my family access a simple site such as google. but that RARELY happens.

Listen, every day now, from the moment i downloaded the game, to now which has been about a month, ive been disconnecting upwards of 8 times every day i play it and i want to know WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON?! Why am I disconnecting so dang much?! This is seriously affecting my gameplay and its causing me to not even want to play this game anymore or even reccomend it to other people, and I GREATLY enjoy this game when its working. Ive tried going to the bug forums to no avail, none of my topics have been even brought up on bug thread to even be talked about. I live in america if that makes any sort of difference. Im extremely frustrated and i want to know why im disconnecting so much? I dont disconnect on ANY other game this frequently. Yes i'll have the occassional disconnect on some of my other games but that is in the allowable amount of at MOST 2 times per day. The disconnects mainly happen when im jumping between systems, wing or no wing. I want an answer and I want it fast, after a month of this happening im seriously frustrated!

The problem is unlikely to be the game or FD's servers. The logic behind that statement is that if it were either of those two then everyone would be experiencing the same thing you are finding. Since other commanders, including myself, are not having the problem we can tentatively say that it is either your equipment or the Internet. Now, you have said that you have checked your equipment and assuming that you know how to do this and have dealt with issues like port forwarding and disabling PnP, then that leaves the Internet.

Despite the seemingly good values you showed in the graphic you posted, that really tells you nothing. Looks good but that is all. The only way that this would be of possible use would be if the test were not only between you and the FD servers but also the routes followed by the test packets were exactly the same as the ones that the Elite packets followed. Otherwise, it's meaningless in this instance. It's also missing other vital diagnostic values such as jitter, lag and packet loss.

All it takes is one doggy piece of kit or connection between your router and the servers at FD on the main route and you're stuffed. Other games work ok? That's because the routes taken for the packets between you and the other game servers is different than the ones between you and FD. We can surmise further. If other games are working well for you, then it's probably not the line between you and your telephone exchange as that is fixed.

Here's a possible test. Do you know anyone locally that plays Elite that is not having the same problems? If so, then take your kit to their place and set it up using their Internet and see what happens. If not, then do you know anyone with a different ISP to you that you could try your kit on? Or do you have a mobile ISP connection that you can use temporary as an Internet tether that uses a different ISP to the one your fixed line uses?

If you use a different ISP or a known good connection and the problem goes away, then it's likely to be an Internet issue and there's not a lot you can do about it except try changing your ISP.

If the problem does not go away and you have checked it on a known good connection of someone who plays Elite and does not have the problem then it's your kit.

One final thing, if you phone up someone and the line is so full of static, crackle and noise so that you can't understand the person at the other end, do you rant and rail at them for not speaking correctly? Or blame the telephone? Or demand that they do something about their "faulty" equipment? No, you don't. You know that it's a bad line and try a mobile instead. Well, that's what you are doing with your "throw-your-rattle-out-of-the-pram" rant.

a highly rude and ignorant POST there is a 95% chance its got nothing to do wth the GAME or FD but your totally on the offensive i could help you solve it but nope learn some god damn manners first

Are you getting disconnected in all game modes? Until recently I had all but given up on open, as I was getting disconnected every jump, accessing menus etc. As it turns out my router for reasons only known to itself had turned off uPnP. Turning it back on obviously fixed it. Failing that I was going to set up port forwarding.

Never happened to me but I feel your frustration OP, Elite is fantastic when it works though so don't give up.

First step would be to try and troubleshoot form your end. Run http://netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu and see what it spits out.

You can also put the netalyser results and your netlogs into a bug report so frontier can see what the issue is. It may be something silly and very specific to your router/connection or isp.

Blame the brits, they still use telegraph lines for internet. Britain is still 20yrs behind in tech for the people. Arkansas could conquer Britain. All the EU is puissant countries smaller than any US states.; Must really sukk that the US rules the planet.l

its a legit problem at mo....its the only time since playing from launch that I too am suffering from disconnects........its worse in the MB for me....missions can stay loading permantly when I cash in....even had crashing whilst jumping to another system.

last night I saw the frontier error reporter thing twice in a hour,it is happening to some of us it seems.

is a bit strange imo.
