If you've been told that there is a massive coverup being perpetrated by both the Feds and the Imps, why would you believe their stated motivations?
To be fair, we were only told of the conspiracy by a senile old woman who most of the time can't remember her own name...
True, but that does not necessarily mean the original London treaty is irrelevant. The fact that the name "London Treaty" is used could mean there are some other similarities that may give insight into the 3278 London treaty. Tonnage restrictions for large naval vessels seem to feature in both, so that is enough to make me read up on it a bit more personally. That is a different London treaty. The Galnet article says this one was signed in 3278.
Ah fair enough, thanks for the clarification. This is on my list to have a look at. I hadn't originally appreciated that CMDRs were unique to each platform (which is annoying!)
Cheers,
Drew.

She's dead.
I hope.
Cheers,
Drew.
Could be something there, but it isn't a theory I personally subscribe to. Dont let that stop you though, I encourage everyone to follow the leads they see fit. I wont call you crazy, that would be like the pot calling the kettle black hahaI mentioned this before but got very little interest. Here goes again. If you go to the darks use of Merope 5C and look at the nebula you can make out images that correspond to Rebecca's memories. There's a small cat in the center that is pointing it's nose at a star. If you jump to that star you'll be on the backside of the nebula and if you go into the shadow of another planet and look you can see "a dark haired man and a brown haired woman, and more images she mentions. Call me crazy or say that I have Pareidoli, you wouldn't be the first. Just listen to Drews clue mentioned above. Look for yourselves. These mysteries aren't as separate as we thought.

Oh and come on, no one believes Octavia is properly dead
To me it seems likely that Octavia would of planned for any eventuality. She probably had multiple backups of her mind, all she would need is the correct match body to plug into. Then again she always did seem a little over confident in herself, so perhaps she did have all her eggs in the Kahina basket? Hmm no I am going to guess we have not heard the last of Octavia, but that is just my personal opinion on the matter.

My theory is some of those things she were remembering are references to the old worlds systems, and specific planets. Especially felinoids, such as those on Lave, Diso, Reorte etc.
I also want to mention that there are a lot of ammonia planets in these old world systems, quite disturbing actually. Searching all over the galaxy for ammonia worlds that could be home to 'goids, yet there are plenty in "civilized" space.
Makes me uneasy.
Perhaps "watch your six" means to watch these worlds back in that region...? There are only five original systems (Lave, Diso, Riedquat, Leesti and Zaonce), but there were 6 expansion systems (Tionisla, Reorte, Orerve, Orrere, Quator, Uszaa)... I shall continue with my investigation

Welcome to the thread hhiram. None of us know exactly what out in the Formidine Rift ... if anything at all. Honestly that isn't important. Most of us working on this mystery are invested in it as much for the sense of community as we are for the potential of solving the mystery.
Thanks for expressing your opinions regarding the 'Salome character'. I truly doubt that the in-game player operating under that name is actually Drew ... I base that on the fact the Drew has said that it isn't him. The person playing as Salome is simply a very well-informed player.
I don't think I'll be disappointed at whatever the 'Easter egg' turns out to be. I'm not looking for anything 'Earth shattering'. It could be a simply thing like a line of text in a planet discription that turn out to be a joke. I'd be happy with that.
I would like to ask you why you feel the need to come here to try and spoil other people's enjoyment in Elite: Dangerous. Has the game become such a bitter disappointment to you that simply seeing other people actually loving the game and enjoying it is so infuriating that you feel a need to inject venom into the conversation to 'poison the well' as it were?

I agree she's senile. That's why she may not have been able to differentiate what were clues and what were distractions to throw others off her own scent. At least when speaking with Salome. That's why it's probably safe to assume that her younger versions were more accurate to the truth.
Looking at the nebula from Merope 5c today I can tell you there are many "eyes on the skies". Not faint wisps of clouds similarly shaped to eyes, no, these eyes appear as if they were drawn comic book style. Those weren't there two weeks ago. Which brings me to my next point.
The tionisla clue. You all have been searching EOFATS for quite a while but nothing...perhaps it would be safe to assume that the woman was smart enough to make the clue have two meanings...one a distraction, one the actual clue. The distraction would have to be the more obvious of the two. So it's my belief that EOFATS is the distraction and Feast of aesto(old school way of saying Easter) is the clue. Like I said the image is becoming clearer day by day perhaps between the 21-22 the image will be at its clearest. (This also coincides with gamescon btw). Or something needs to be done during that window. I'm not certain as yet.
It's a lot to take in...and I'm only one person but so far I've seen no progress from the UA/UP crowd or the Rifters. Perhaps it's because both groups have each others puzzle pieces and believe they don't go together.
If you believe me go take a look at the nebula, maybe take a screen shot then come back in a few days, it'll be different (clearer).
Oh, I'm not trying to poison the well or ruin anyone's fun. I'm trying to protect people from having false hopes built up by Drew and FD who are (I promise you) behaving unscrupulously, leading hundreds - even thousands - of players on a wild goose chase for some "big" prize that will turn out to be <swearing removed>, and they should be condemned for it.
Of course now we'll never know because Drew is saying a whole bunch of content has recently been "added" to the mystery. Well, so much for the tens of thousands of hours of player search efforts over the last 2 years - 'em and their time, right Drew/FD?
My only argument with the easter ref is that it has been stated that whatever we are looking for has been in the game since gamma, so not date specific.
Just because it has a date when this thing is "most viewable" doesn't mean it's not in game. The Merope system seems to be too perfect in terms of orbits and distances. Perhaps this thing becomes viewable every month around the same time frame? Hence the strange perfection of the systems arrangement.
That would explain why it's been in game for so long and is still undiscovered. It's only viewable to those who look in the right place at the right time.
Well of course it could just simply mean "watch your six". That is a genuine possibility and what I believed at first too. I try to keep an open mind however, and it "watch your six" could mean something different, a play on words perhaps.Could you or anyone else who thinks 'watch your six' means anything other than the usual 'watch out for people trying to stop you' explain to me why the Old Woman would choose to say something in code? - given that everything else she says is clear and to the point.
I honestly don't know where to start explaining why the old woman would choose to say something in code, it is pretty obvious. I completely disagree that everything she says has been "clear and to the point". As a matter of fact I would say the complete opposite is true. She deliberately speaks in code and riddles to mislead and obscure what she knows. Wouldn't be much of a mystery otherwise.

Could you give me an example?
I mean, the RR line is straight up, the need to map a route across the rift, likewise. The only thing she's unclear about is what exactly we're looking for - which is where the mystery is.
Sure, the EAFOTS clue is obscure, but the actual conversations with Salome don't appear coded to me.
Genuinely curious - not (just) being argumentative![]()
She freed and floated on the air her arms
Above dim veils that hid her bosom's charms...
The veils fell round her like thin coiling mists
Shot through by topaz suns and amethysts.
