Are you working on the principle that if you repeat yourself often enough, it will become true ?
It is the solution, it fits every clue that MB has posted, especially the point that the place to find is obvious in hindsight and 100% testable. The fact that no one is interested is rather amazing and would rather dismiss. Okay then, more UPs for me.

People will be more interested when you show up with a UP ;)
A narrow time-window solution seems unlikely due to the game having a global audience.

Not saying you are wrong, but you stating it as a fact over and over makes it sound less likely every time you do so. Go test, prove it, THEN it is a fact.

Just scared myself looking at the spectogram, coulda sworn i saw an ant head staring at me at the bottom left of the sphere and a side section of an ant head + body on the right of the sphere, including his feelers at the top ending in a claw.. my imagination is getting to me.. or space madness, oh and the side stuff with the wavy lines looks like writing of some sort when magnified.

So what is the time in the orbit that they turn up then? lets test this.

In case you were wondering what's inside, I don't know either:

The artwork from the e-book that's just been released is a 'spoiler-ish' treasure trove and contains some interesting quotes to go with the images.

"it was interesting to design an objects that had to be so ambiguous..."

And from the images it's clear that
the array of pods along the central shaft are detachable and contains some other package or device.

There has been a lot of crackpot ideas put forward recently ( Mine Included), hence the lack of enthusiasm. Also if there is no video of the event it did not happen.:)

If you're right and you find one where you expected, when you expected it, then you'll be rightly lauded for a fantastic achievement.

Once you claim to find one, even if you provide no proof, at least a dozen of us will rush over and try to replicate your discovery because hell...we're desperate :D

You can click it for a full screen view.

You know...I've seen probs like 40 wild UA's and ingame there Creepy in a sense of "What is this thing"+the noise they make....But(as i just downloaded my own copy of the book and am reading it) It look so much more scary/creepy? in that form, it even looks like from the head it could attach to something....I really do have to commend the art team

quod erat demonstrandum

That's Latin for pics or it didn't happen.

(animation) armature for flexible spine.

From the images and text it's clear that
the spine flexes to detach the array of pods and these contains some other package or device.

You could have just edited your first post :D

You should also be careful about taking anything for gospel, just remember this is concept art and things may have changed.

oops. got over excited :)

Agreed, but I'd bet my Asp that the 'function' of the device is gospel. So function would be to shed a bunch of alien pods and the concept art plays with the different ways this could appear (flexible shaft cracking pods off vs solid shaft with explosive jettison of pods).

Nah, nvm. I'll just keep the timing and UP information for myself. Good luck blindly roaming the 'verse. Bye forums.

As happens when you're losing your mind, I just had a distinct memory of reading a piece linked to this thread over the past two weeks... I believe it was a Drew Wegner story that talked about an unknown ship that appeared twice in some sector and then finally disappeared with a bunch of our probes stuck to it. This image makes me think of that story. Maybe the reason they know morse is because they have our old probes inside them at their core.

Anyone else read this piece? I can't seem to find it now. Maybe we should check the sector named in that story for UP's coming home...

Has anyone looked into constellation diagrams?
Opened in a wiki page and if the symbols around the outside of the inner circle are binary, this could help or at least give someone an idea.

Not sure how to put up a picture of it, but looks like it could be similar.
