To all you player groups UA bombing places like Robigo and Sothis...

/mod hat off

you have an interesting definition of grieving.

didn't you bring medicines to sothis, when it was in outbreak state and worked on ending it? why did you spoil my fun of farming pharmaceutical isolators there?

did you run missions for any other faction than sirius corporation there? i invested serious time to get allied with sirius corporation, and you kicked them from controlling the systems, grieving my faction and spoiling my fun...

seriously?

we are playing in a shared galaxy. we should embrace all activities of all players, because it is part of what makes this a great game.

don't like it? get organised and bring meta alloys. don't like a lockdown? go bounty hunting. etc.

or move on.

When the sirius corporation got kicked out of the controlling faction, it didn't stop you from taking missions with them, anymore than when the controlling faction changed in my home system. This is an action by a group of players to deny economic avenues to other players. As Quiquag said: this is being done solely to annoy other players.

^ Mr Moderator makes sense.

If you don't take care of the background simulation, you yourself risk causing issues for other players. Has anyone seen just how wildly the influence in these 2 systems has been fluctuating? Still at least Edmond has failed to get a grip on the system despite 3 attempts in 6 weeks lol

It is being annoying to other players, and good on them.

This is dynamism and emergent behaviour! One the good side we have Fuel Rats, on the bad side we have UA bombers.

As it should be.

Carry on.

It's a living breathing galaxy with ats including myself and others in it. It makes it more dynamic and immersive as it is ever changing and prevents it from stagnating. Every action has a consequence, whether that be positive or negative.

My only gripe about UA bombing is that it's kinda easy. I'm not arguing against it, but I think that it should be more risky that simply getting some module damage. With the amount of UA bombing that has occurred over the last few months, I'd imagine there would be some sort of "UA detector" invented/installed in system stations. Thus giving a small (say, 10%/UA onboard) detection chance once you enter the station. You get detected and the station open fires.

I don't think UA bombing is griefing though. No more than Piracy is griefing. Inconvenient? Yes indeed.

Nope. Nope and more nope. Find other places to make money. These are our systems now. Mwhahahaha.

Whether you're involved in this or not, do you like the game? Congrats. You/whoever is participating in this has made the game LESS FUN for other people. This contributes to people leaving. If you want Frontier to keep creating new content for the game/the game to even keep existing...making the game LESS fun for others isn't going to accomplish that.

So whether you're helping UA bomb, or you're just a troll, congrats.

The same people crying about Sothis are quick to point out that there are 20+ other systems that can be used to make obscene amounts of credits the exact same way. So if this means of making credits is integral to your gameplay, you're not being kept from continuing to do so at all.

It's not a single player game. The quicker you get over not playing one, the less whining you'll be driven to do. manipulating the BGS is how the game works. You're not above it when it's good for you, just as you're not above it when it's bad for you.

Just as " it didn't stop you from taking missions with them, anymore than when the controlling faction changed in my home system" Sothis and Ruby and Cleo or whatever they are called, being closed does not stop you from any of the numerous other economic avenues available in game.

Use your skills and knowledge you have learnt on how the BGS plays and find those other opportunities.
As surely you are not just relying on S R & C because everyone else did, right?

Well don't even get module damage I'd assume if you get the corrosive resistant cargo racks from Palin.

It's not easy. It's incredibly dull lol

Hell yeah. What else do you think they're used for lol

Screw you. Seriously. Stop trying to ruin other people's fun. If you don't like Sothis and Robigo? Then DON'T USE THEM. But stop messing with other people.

Frontier? Please remove this stupid griefing mechanic.

First off - IT'S NOT GREIFING and FD shouldn't REMOVE IT.

Would putting the system in lockdown be an exploit - NO - so Neither is this.

You know what is an exploit though - stacking missions by game logging to Open, Solo, Private - in order to get the missions you WANT - that SURE IS AN EXPLOIT.

So booo frickin hoo - your exploit got a wrench thrown in. So you want it back?! You want to continue your game greifing by making money quick/easy at Sothis and Robigo - then DEFEND THE SYSTEM by supporting with Meta-Alloys. How about you actually work for it?

If you don't defend it and it gets shut down, well that's your problem. Quit crying about your exploit getting legitimetly shut down by some players.

GOOD FOR YOU UA BOMBERS!!!! Shutting down what FD is afraid to do - and I don't blame them, look at these crybabies!!!! [smile] [up]

So whether you're helping UA bomb, or you're just a troll, congrats. You're a moron.

There's a group of people probably having a lot of fun shutting stations down. The people trying to undermine their efforts and bring it back or making it less fun for them. Oh wait, trolling and being a moron is only when its an action that doesn't increase your definition of fun in the game. OK. I think you're playing the wrong game. You dont want a shared multi-player game.

Well, it's pretty obvious the intent of this is driven to affect other players only. There is no in-game motive to disable a station outside of powerplay, and given Sothis / Ceos's reputation, it's being done solely becuase it will annoy other players. That is griefing. (I say this as someone who doesn't really care one way or the other)

i prefer players using ingametools to get things done instead of opening another "nerf sothis/ceos"-thread, but that's just me.

and i'm seriously hurt about sirius corporation loosing tgat systems.

but if people start smuggling slaves, i'm not surprised people even more evil showing up and selling UAs on the black market...

Apparently the main character spends his time otherwise killing mostly harmless commanders in sidewinders with is super modded Corvette, somebody must have showed up in something a bit more dangerous for him to devote time hauling stuff to Sothis.....

I dunno if this is supposed to refer to me or not, but I have yet to kill another player, period. I certainly wouldn't grief sidewinder commanders in a corvette.

You dont want a shared multi-player game.

No! I don't! I play games to get AWAY from people for the most part. I was one of the people angry when elite announced it was yanking it's offline version (full disclosure, I am not a kick starter backer.) And I do that because people DO THIS: mess with other people's fun because it brings joy to their pathetic lives.

Sirius are the factions with highest influence in Ceos right now and Sothis is looking like anyone's game due to them all being fairly close
