I'm at the station in Cail now, waiting for 10am to roll around. An hour to go. Going to hang out within the no-fire zone until then, screw the PvPers lol

It's not PvP'ers that's the problem... The problem is down to FD not sorting it out over the past 12-18 months!

How ridiculous and what a shame people can't play in OPEN and enjoy these sort of things/events due to the fact the game cannot handle/police griefers...

Why are the majority of the player base having their gaming affected (spoiled) by a minority? Why don't FD care?

OT ok I am breaking my own discipline here Water world in system with 30+ bodies. I am no longer scanning them ALL, I will never make it back if I continue doing that

Eagle bomber, eagle equipped with nothing but mines...cheap, fast enough that big ships struggle to get a bead on you, and if you can drop the mines accurately deadly enough to bother the big boys

We don't know where in Cail we are looking. It could be at a station, it could be the Nav beacon, it could be a regular npc. It could be an actor who logs in at the station and moves from there. We don't know yet, so eyes peeled.

Wait... I always thought 'the alien was her father' to be a snide remark on how anticlimactic the ending of Contact was.

Do you mean there are people who literally took the ending as her father was the alien?

That's probably the funniest thing I heard in a month :D

Exactly, as demonstrated by a conversation early in this (or the previous) thread :)

theres an unnamed FDL, FAS and anaconda hanging around each of the nav points ( no names but its a gang of 3 and they are pvpers just saying) wont matter in private or solo of course

Just hoping whatever goes on is accessible outside a point in time. At dinner, and won't be back till an hour or so after 1000, and working during the next one...

I think police responses could be a bit better but honestly, for better or for worse, that is the game the ED is. It's not that they don't care, it's that this is the nature of 'Open'. You have to want to be involved in this. It's exciting and exhilarating for some of us. I tend to just fly cheap, small ships in open.

I can see everyone is keen for this to begin but remember - the message said it would begin today: the adventure might last longer!
.
A treasure hunt to find an alien presence might be only the first step - what comes then? For example, peaceful first contact might lead to us being sent a message and we might find ourselves needing to decode another transmission. If we find one alien ship or outpost, would that imply we should be searching for more? Unlike the treasure hunts for credits, this one will be moving the storyline forwards, so the one who finds it first may be the one who gets to choose which branch of the storyline to take, even if there's a persistent POI that everyone can visit later. I hope whoever finds it first is able to record the moment... good luck everyone! (From someone out in the Conflux region about 7KLY from Jaques in the direction of the bubble).

So close, but I guess this is not Kohl xD

I'm hoping Frontier stops teasing us and put their attention on more important developments of the game such as life on planets like no man's sky.
