I know it sucks to not have been directly part of it but these puzzles are always aimed at the community as a whole, never for individuals to all have the same, unique experience. It's more about that it happens than everyone crowding around to watch it.
Having said that, I know how you feel. I never seem to be anywhere near these people in these moments either lol
I gave up trying to be there in the action months ago - synchronising time on the computer with events in-game, whilst keeping Lady Z happy has proven far too difficult!
I do enjoy living vicariously through this thread when I have to though.
But you're right - the best way to think of all this is a single player mission where the 'player' is the entire community. If you're not there, the community still is, and the success of any of these things relies on that.
Best not to get too disappointed at not being there and get the popcorn and beer/wine/whisky... and biscuits obviously.
