All I wanted was something I could experience in solo mode, dealing with instancing is a pain.

I spent a lot of time scanning every CMDR flying an Asp Explorer at Pic Tok, big waste of time.

Yeah this is exactly my problem. If I were theoretically working alone with in game events and not checking the forums, I'd still be in Cail waiting for a t9 that got blown up. MAYBE I would have found the CG in Ngalia by pure luck looking at the galaxy map. This isn't a gameplay event, it's a forums event. It's completely disorganized, the clues aren't confirmed, there's no in-game way to track what's going on and we haven't made a coordinated effort to logically deduce who is lying and what's going on. It's just a total cluster     and I'm part of it. I don't like it!

Guys, I think we're digging so deep into speculation that we're not sticking to what we really know. So, what do we know?

1) Logan Kohl (Red Trader) told us "One of my friends always lies. The system has a single M-class star." He also offered a second clue in exchange for narcotics.
2) Mahina Dillon told us "I visited a rocky planet at lattitude 34 near binary pulsars." He also offered a second clue in exchange for tobacco.
3) According to this Reddit comment https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...ald_article_in_presuppport_gamma_from/d6ybkdo (copy/pasting findings here:
  • "The Red Trader Was Carrying Fish During The Incident
  • THE ASP IS YELLOW
  • A Cobra is due to arrive at 21.00
  • The T9 Pilots Route Takes Them To System CAIL
  • Dillon never carries cargo
  • someone who wasn t carrying cargo will arrive in apademak at
  • A trader called Kohl will arrive in CAIL at 10.00
  • GRANGER DOESNT CARRY CARGO. HE HANGS AROUND APADEMAK"
WHAT OTHER CLUES DO WE HAVE? At this point the thread is an absolute mess and we need to reground ourselves in concrete fact.

Now at McMullen Vision in Chertan. No CG, having a look for anything out of the ordinary.

Thought it was worth crossing off the list, at least.

Sandro : oh okey, it is difficult but i will do something like we did with Powerplay, we let them chase all te time from system to system hauling goods and in the end there will be nothing, maybe show them a picture of ED in a alien suit in the end.

whole team together yes let we do this, that would make our player base happy

Seconded. It confuses lots of players, forces them to check forums, takes them out of the game and breaks immersion.

Brilliant game design like the Powerplay board-game. :rolleyes: [down]

Well, there's one good thing.Now that you've told them so, they can begin crafting the next event especially for you. Lots of other people are enjoying this event, in open.

This is simply terrible. What a horrible reveal. Even if they reveal the secret to the universe. Fish and tobacco, with no where to deliver it is an abjectly horrible way to bring it about.

i just jettisoned 128 tobacco all over McMullen vision if anyone wants it. $200,000 in fines, but worth it.

This is boooorrrriiiinnnggg.

Its been pretty clear for a long time first contact wouldn't be in solo mode.

Abso-bleedin-lutely.

For me it really has always been about *my* story and how that fits in a wider narrative, hence how my stuff with the Canonn came about, and why I often don't chase CGs or whatever. I don't have vast cash reserves, and only have two ships worth flying (yeah okay, total value 330m, but I don't count those!), but when I strap in I know that I'm doing is what I want to do and if I don't enjoy it any more, I do something else instead.

Anyway - I hope to get in tonight to join in the fun if I can.

The main thing that would really impress me is if actual alien ships start showing up. Mostly because it would mean they've been sneaking alien ship models into the game's updates without anyone noticing.

If by event you mean a bunch of people happening to occupy the same space due to something that quite clearly is not​ happening, then yes. Event.
