No but it does provide a consistency, which if broken, devalues the efforts for any comparable activity. Basically a CG payout like this happens just makes every CG I've ever done feel like a waste of time, like it doesn't matter because the rewards are not proportional to the effort.
Billlion credits opportunities in this game are not new by any means and this is pocket change in fact. I'm still very happy for the green CMDRs who made the money of their life on this though.
And very happy about the salt coming from all those who weren't taking part in this CG. ^^
It makes everything look like a waste of time from the mere CR gain perspective.
I can see where you're coming from but I decided I don't care anymore. If I did, I suspect I wouldn't even keep playing the game tbh.
How many people are going to wade into this chat and not realise the CG had typo'd totals?
300 mil is 30 mil if the decimal point was in the right place. Which is bang on what a finished CG tends to offer for top 10% at teir 8.
I get the impression people assume intent, rather than basic incompetence; lol, how quaint.
Frontier tried to do the right thing, by honouring the mistake and people legit crack the sads.

OP? Very pleased for you & all that - you now have more credits than me & I've been playing since June, last year - but you remind me of those 'public' lottery winners on the news with the giant cheques..just rubbing it in! Why didn't you just keep it to yourself, to avoid the inevitable teeth-grinding from those who didn't participate & were in the meantime accepting missions worth 25k+some iron!?
Same here brother. I'm wondering how I didnt know about this. I was playing all weekend. Checking Galnet here and there. I know CG's happen but they are usually far away, and the payout isn't even worth the trip considering sometimes they would also require a differently fitted ship than the one I fly to make it worth it. How do I separate the normal ones to the ones like this?

I don't? I think it's hilarious. At least frontier had the stones to own their mistake this time. Good. A bunch of commanders get a cash injection and can enjoy the game in a slightly shorter time frame than expected.
