I'm rich!

I hate to be the pessimist here (welllll..... not really :p), but has it occurred to anyone currently dancing around in their newfound wealth that this might simply be some preparation for the possibly massive wave of insurance claims coming up with 2.2 and whatever is out there, waiting to eat your faces off?

I don't think it's too much of a spoiler when I quote a single statement from Drew Wagar's book -
the Thargoids were peanuts compared to what's out there behind the Formidine Rift.

Not in the slightest :D

Can Wagar's books be seen as cannon though? I don't know much about him.

Well, you have to admit that if it was intentional, it was a hell of a marketing campaign...

Folks complain, some leave
Some folks don't buy because they aren't sure
Wait for NMS
NMS turns out to be a flop
Some Folks come back
CGs pay out big-time
Folks who participated are all abuzz
Folks tell their friends
Mr. Brookes looks over the shoulder of the dev who made the CG boo-boo as they read your post:
"well kid, it's better to be lucky than smart." ;)

There was an iphone app, one of the first apps out there, which was just that graphic and nothing else - and it cost $999. It was called "I'm rich", and a total of eight users did purchase it.

Ah yes, I'd heard of that. Didn't know what it looked like.
Lucky developer though, clever too. LOL

I tell you one thing I noticed about this CG.. I didn't see anyone get pulled from SC, nor a fleet of attack ships.. I suspect everyone was jumping on the bang wagon.. KA CHING! :D

Yeah absolute!
The instances were FULL of cmdrs and no single ganker was there as far as i know. It was really enjoying

It crossed my mind which is why I didn't go with a Conda and just got an A-rated Python with my proceeds. Sold a few ships, and now I have a chunk of credits in the bank in preparation. And my guns are ready.

I hope you're right but after previous AI wailing I don't think FD have the cojones to risk upsetting the usual cadre that scream the AI is too difficult and flood the forums. I'll believe it when I'm blown to pieces by badass aliens and I look forward to it.

Well am I glad I decided to help the Empire on my first CG, they know how to reward their helpers :D, "Thank you for helping us build 3 Battleships, here's a free Anaconda cos you're awesome" [up].... now I have to not dent it [hehe].
Think this is the first time I've been part of something like this instead of reading about it on the forums later and cursing myself for not getting involved.

I am loving the outrage and whining by those that feel they're owed something but you're not allowed to have nice things.. I'm happy that my 20+ hours this weekend 'earned' me around 70,000,000 cr.

The salt on here and on Reddit is amazing.

Just because some of us spent the last 24 hours hauling like nut jobs and walked away with 330 million, that's no reason for anyone to be upset.
I'm sure another one like this will turn up again.......

.... eventually.

;)

Yep, you have to give it to the Imp`s they pay well and have got a lot of style for a bunch of pansies, the Fed's better up their game and hike their wages quick, it's a Cmdrs market out there. Lets hope they start knocking skelps out of each other so that they'll need replacements fast. I want to have my own fleet of cutters and corvettes, one each for every day of the week.

God damn work!
I missed the best CG ever apparently. Lol

Not that I'm short on cash, but a few 100m would have gotten my 2nd Python all ready to go exploring in.

FD, please let me know if you're going to make an insanely easy CG, with ridiculously high payouts in advance next time!

Fdev why are you handing out credits like it's nothing? Have you heard of inflation and such? What are you game designers thinking? [wacky]

Well, to have to deal with inflation you would need to have an actual player driven economy, which this game doesn't have.

That's one of the reasons why we don't have a real economy on this game, because with the current system they are going to be able to get away with this without ruining the markets.

The ones who didn't participate won't have any change in their game, the ones who participated now have more money. Nobody loses.

Y'see, we're not the 'Elite' so we're not meant to have nice things. Only those special few are, the rest of us are just meant to be the red shirts, or storm troopers and just be there for scenery. I'm finding this all hilarious, mistake on FD's part or no, I'm glad I put the grinding in.

Congrats on your 330 million by the way!
