Jacques Station + EOL PROU nebula and the barnacle hunt

Slow down please! I've only just engineered my asp for the return trip. A 40 light year jump range is twice as good as my python was but I still need a few days.

I think the exploration CG will be finished in 24 hours, we now need a new minor faction, a population upgrade or an outfitting services upgrade CG at jaques, and im hoping Fdev put in that first planetary base in this thursdays downtime as well.

Has anyone brought a few unknown probes to sell at jaques yet, 3 or 4 wont do anything but it will register on the trade / economic database that jaques has, perhaps only one of a few items he doesnt have in his possession

So much for taking a break. Decided that my Anaconda just wasnt nimble enough so I bought a suicidewinder and blew myself up. Went back to my home system in the bubble to pick up my AspX. Headed back to Farseer to reroll my Rank5 FSD and went from 39ly to 47ly. Headed straight to Jaques, no detours and only honking. I'll scan the star if I find any ELW otherwise Im just motoring thru. 18.2k LY out from Jaques.

so about 550 jumps with that 47ly range

remember folks we now have a discord server, my sig and the front page OP have the links, even those just with an interest in jaques are welcome to drop by and say hi. We have content for the main bubble as well that relates to science research, exploration and new colony development, anything that directly or indirectly relates to jaques.

Yeah. Neutron hunting in the Anaconda was just too much of a hassle. The AspX feels like an Eagle compared to the Conda. It takes about 20 jumps per 1000 ly in the Anaconda whereas in my Asp X takes about 24. But its worth it.

the exploration CG id say on current trend lines ends in 3 days so if youre at jaques or getting close doubling down on exploration speed or handing that data in is highly advisable

buckyball the run; yes it's not scanning everything (apart from honking) but the exploration CGs (sadly) don't care about quality, just quantity of reports.

colonia nebula crew are doing a canyon run, they are a small group, theres other groups doing their own thing. This thread is a group of groups sort of, anyone is welcome to wonder in and out , we do tend to lean towards freelancers collecting together for mutual operations of interest, but while retaining diversity of actions and we prefer to encourage more groups to move to jaques rather than a concentration of groups under one banner. Creative friction and competition works well on this sort of emergent gameplay and Fdev prefer to always have compeititon and alternatives rather than playing favourites so we tend to go the same way.

Theres always the discord server ( link in sig) if u want to come and say hi

Any activities around Jacques st.? Am nearly there.

haul and explore CG, a mining CG ( yeah another one) might be forthcoming soon combined with a hauling CG to add another piece of real estate, and hopefully the first CG (mining) seeing the planetary support outpost going in this week rather than 2.2 , just to keep things fluid

Not sure what thats supposed to mean. When I get back to Jaques Im gonna hang out for a while and find as many Neutron stars as I can before I get bored and try something else in the area. Im certaintly not going to drive 300,000ls to scan that last planet. If that makes me a poor explorer so be it, Im being a tourist on this run. I'll worry about quality exploration once I get back to Jaques.

Now alien contact has been made at least with a crashed ship recovery - with the growth of jaques ( mining helps with wealth and military growth as well at jaques) - what plans should we put in place for peace and war, and should we also pick defacto factions within the core worlds to support

Think trade links, research links and all manner of other possibilities, we have for a while supported the growth of the quince system as the closest bubble side system to jaques and a last stop before one heads out here. For now the closest agricultural colony ( seeds and food stuffs mostly come from here) but soon agricultural colonies will be built around jjaques

Some of our members may hae links with lawful and lawless entities, all of these can be leveraged to various means. With black markets all those grey items ( ua and up, as well as ai relics, prototype technology, technical blueprints, data caches and many other things can now be imported and sold locally)

CG suggestions are welcomed as well as Fdev watch this thread for ideas

A crashed thargoid ship around jaques could be a unique and innovative use of assets and CG and exploration mechanics ahead of 2.2 ( hint hint Fdev if youre so inclined)

Im not sure that a crashed Thargoid? ship near Jaques would have the same WOW factor as the first find - maybe only for tourists to visit in 2.2.

What would be a novelty is finding out what is in the area that caused Jaques Station to be here.

im thinking it more of an easter egg or tourism find. Given the lack of other content near jaques currently rocks rocks and more rocks, something is needed

There's no such thing as a "poor" explorer. I am currently only hunting Ammonia and Earth-like worlds. There's plenty of systems, so if someone exclusively wants to do whole system scans there's still gazillions of those to do that, too.

Exploration CGs are a pure cumulative total of astronomical scans (disco scan, not surface). Planetary body scans are great but slow down transit.

So my point was, the CG doesn't care about body scans so if one is some distance out, honk-scoop-jump and save the body scans for the return trip. :)

People missed out prior CGs because they assumed the CG would go full term. I don't think the current exploration will; it'll almost certainly end early.
