and yes I noticed it was a 2013 thread.....all im saying is I wouldn't be surprised if when FD implement the first beginings of this type of gameplay I wouldn't be surprised if the pub was just like that RP thread.....going on all the updates we have had since launch.

if I had something good to say...well id be first to say it and praise the game.

where you on the other hand never say anything bad about the game it seems?...but then again you are a moderator aswell as a massive fan.

im a massive fan of ED and its history...im a 80s home computing nerd.


just want to see more from FD.



Anyway sorry to derail the thread gents....a pub would be most welcome.....or a strip bar..poker dens.
but like others have said none of this is possible without FPS...well if one wants it immersive anyway.

its a nice feeling walking from ones massive ship with mates after landing and visiting places apart from the blackness of space....it works well enough already in SC alpha...so it should be fitting for ED aswell

I guess I'm the only one who thinks being able to walk around in stations and into pubs is a horrible idea in Elite Dangerous.

I envision it like that:
- getting instantly shoot at by a player
- player killers camping at "spawn points" with sniper guns
- mission giving NPCs constantly dead, because players killed them
- police response non existent
- crime punishment non existent
- NPC criminals that try to rob you every 10m

If FD creates non-PvP areas for the FPS-part the forums will be flooded by complaints about that. In addition to the complains players will find effective ways to annoy others and to prevent any non-hostile social interaction.
If FD allows PvP, then the forums will be flooded by complains about that.

I can't help but to think a strip bar is not going to be as great in ED as it would be in Mass Effect. Not quite sure why.

Most stations would have tight security so shooting is suicidal for a player. Maybe some sleazy bars have no or low security.That's where players would go who want potential FPS combat.

See Ultima Online and other MMOs on how that's handled. Warcraft has taverns and players can do duels with other players. Both players must accept the duel and the player who reduces the other player's health to 1 wins. So it's not to the death.

Asari are very overrated. I hope Frontier has the guts to add adult-themed stuff like a strip club and casinos (without nudity). Mass Effect did it already.
