I was scratching my head at that comment for a while, until I came across the thread: The Thargoid and Fer-de-Lance.

Celebrating the redneck culture most likely. I'm not a country music fan, but the bar fight scene in that clip reminds me of these forums after a patch release.
I'm doing missions for the Empire and receiving 4 at a time here and there, been selling them off because I'm not focused on engineering at the moment.
Although to obtain 25 of them, it would take a hell of a lot of missions. I tend to agree with the demand of storage.

Despite people's gripes with the game, either recent or longstanding, I'm still thoroughly enjoying this game.

Phht, over a year and a half in and they don't even have basic multi-play functionality working right. Yah, TOTALLY going to clap my hands[haha]

And like all politicians they get such approval despite being complete jokes.78% approval rating. If this game was a politician, they would be a rockstar.

Jokes?? Now that is a bit over the top. Let's to remember that Frontier have accomplished something amazing here in creating a 1:1 galaxy with some pretty insane graphics. And yes the multiplayer issues are real, but I wonder if the enormous galaxy they created would even be possible on a pure client-server model. From my limited understanding, they are using a somewhat new form of architecture that is almost as revolutionary as the way they squeezed acreage out of every last bit of memory in the original Elite.
I will agree however that Frontier does try to have ED be all things to all people. But that is somewhat expected because this is a game that encompasses a whole galaxy.
I think they deserve all the runway we can provide to bring the gameplay to life. They are doing it, that much is for sure. Maybe not in the exact order that I would prefer, but I still have 100% faith in Braben's vision.

I believe that the OP set out to praise the community, not the game itself. Regardless of individual belief about the state of the actual game.
The poll results so far seem pretty close to being about right, around 3/4 of the community of these forums (not just this thread) deserves an applause.
