This has probably been discussed before. I've tried to play catch-up on this cool mystery but to be honest I'm guessing I missed a lot.
The name of the ship from the book, 'Heart and Soul,' is a reference to the two nebulae that are next to each other near the rift, correct?
I know there's a lot of referencing of Greek Mythology (Most specifically the names of the planetary bodies in the Prism system). So would the Heart and Soul nebulae be like the 'Pillars of Hercules' from Greek Mythology, that guarded the entrance to the Mediterranean? Except they would be guarding the entrance to the Formidine rift?
Ahhh, that's where we differ.
I don't believe we're intended to be passive in this - the mythologies are our clue to a course of action, which we've so far singularly failed to decipher, but nonetheless is integral to solving the mystery, not just to understanding it.
I'm taking the rep as a reminder that finding the IT is not just a question of scanning every system in EAFOTS until something weird shows up.
The story and the ideologies behind the story will be important in helping solve the mystery.
Salome and the seven Veils is probably a hint at the overall thought process and back story.
I believe its just a way of narrating Kahinas change to Salome, a stripping of al the imperial pomp that leaves a rawer character, unbound by the chains of her title and family name and free to explore her own self.
Many may see he dance as just erotic but lots see the dance as an act of female empowerment.
I'm not sure how this ties in with the rift. The rift is a seperate narrative of course although there could be a tie.
It would not be a stretch to believe the rift has thematical greek legend story to it. A discovery that was maybe foretold in ancient stories for example.
Which is how I first learned about critical thinking, having read my fathers V.Daniken books aged 9. I was fascinated, then went back to school after summer, looked stuff up and found the books to be a massive fraud.
Those were one of VD's lies. He edited parts out of some of the glyphs, so they better resembled what he wanted them to, and most people fail to mention that there are hills overlooking the site, and so the designers could see exactly what they carved.
I think it would be fair to say that if it is Salome who has been arrested, then it it likely that she would have been taken to the same facility as Halsey and Weston, presumably to have her memory 'modified'... hence the requirement for a Sol permit. I can see a rescue mission being required fairly soon. I wonder whether she will be able to hack the database while she's there and figure out just what we are looking for in the rift..
Apart from Prism, Cambridge and March 20 (day he died) point to Newton. Also, "illuminating visit" and Interdictor Lucius may point to him, God said "Let Newton be" and all was light. Newton was more concerned with alchemy and the Bible than science and math. Then we have Caduceus, the ship that was transporting Kahina, which points to Hermes/Hermes Trismegistus, thus to alchemy. Seven Veils may be connected to the seven stages of alchemical transformation. This whole narrative may be about the search for eternal life or rejuvenation. Octavia wants to get into Kahina's body to be young again, the old woman keeps thinking of the days she was young and also tells us that she started searching after she lost..., Kahina is offered Gerasian Liquor in Sol (ΓΗΡΑΣ in greek means old age). Maybe the secret is analogous to the Philosopher's Stone/Eternal Youth Fountain. On the other hand it could just mean the psychological transformation(metamorphosis) of Kahina to Salome.
Since this theory only started a couple of days ago i don't have any leads to follow apart from stations with "Newton" in their name and a star system in Orion's Nebula named "NEWTON". I can persue neither cause i'm far away, so anyone in the bubble or near ON could give those a go.
Just as a side note to the above, when Newtonian Physics is applied to galaxies, there is an apparent mass shortage, which led to the hypothesis of Dark Matter being in abundance. With the references to Light (Prism, etc) and references to Dark Systems, perhaps we are looking too closely. Could we be looking for something relating to Dark Matter or at least a source of enormous mass?........

I wanted to make this post a few pages back, but was betrayed by my mobile device.
I've seen reoccurring assumption, or misquote, regarding one of the old lady's statements. It seems that relatively common to assume here that The old Lady said, that what she saw is "worse that the Thargoids" with conclusion that The Rift mister must therefore be hiding something aggressive, dangerous, alien and dangerous (yes indeed, double dangerous), AI, aliens or something similar.
but what The old Lady said is actually: "....and they thought the Thargoids were trouble" (iirc, I am quoting from memory). The think is this correct statement is much more broad - it may refer to something dangerous in a military kind of way, ie some kind of enemy force, but it just as well may not. The statement itself is just too unclear. It might as well be the thing that would cause political or social turmoil, hence for "them" it would be worse than Thargoids (as a war with outside enemy usually gets people and nations together, so for Human Galactic political powers it may actually be beneficial. Think in the terms of WWII).
It may seem like nitpicking from my side, but I think that as we are in situation where we don't even know what to look for, any misinterpretation or misquoting of the original clues is rather dangerous.
And if you allow my personal opinion on the mystery, in my mind, some kind of alien or war like AI threat doesn't really fit into Kahina's/The Old Lady's story. Their is the story about loss, change, grief, even personal agenda and intrigues (or whatever it's spelled). Alien threat doesn't really fit into that narrative for me. It's just my humble opinion though.
Just my two pieces of octal into the discussion as I felt it may fit into the current train of thoughts of some posters regarding the nature of the mystery.

She could even be referring to herself, it all depends on how the line is delivered. In my mind I've cast Cloris Leachman for TOW who's crazier than a bag of bats. Plus if Children of Raxxla story is true it changes what's going on there and on the planet of the cannibal monks.
For Luko I hopped on Andrew Sacks, Manuel from Fawlty Towers for some reason and can't shake it even though I know it's wrong but when I think Italian I get the Sopranos. Wadyagonnado, fergedaboudit.

Actually it is Mark 3:25 not 3:15. You're in the wrong system
The following is likely a dead end so I'll wrap it in a SPOILER.
This isn't the first time that we've seen a passage from the Bible quoted in relationship to Salome. Lets look a little bit closer at this one.
In the Galnet story ... to whom does the "house divided against itself" refer to? The house of Loren? The house of Duval? Or perhaps the Empire itself?
The context of Mark 3:25 is that the "house" is a reference to Satan. In verse 22 there were some scribes who claimed that Jesus was casting out demons "by the prince of demons". Jesus' answer to this accusation was, "How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end."
The same phrase appears in the book of Matthew as well, recounting the same set of events. Matthew 12:25 - "But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: 'Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.'"
It is also in Luke 11:17 - "But He knew their thoughts and said to them, 'Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls.'"
Of the four canonical Gospels the phrase appears in Matthew, Mark and Luke. Only the Gospel of John omits it. So, we have three numbers: 12:25, 3:25 and 11:17. Coordinates?
The actual quote used in Galnet, however, is much closer to how Lincoln said it. I can't find the specific wording in any of the mainstream English Bible translations but it is almost exactly the same words used by Lincoln. Given the context of how the phrase is used it makes more sense. I doubt that the Imperial Patron quoted in the article intended to paint the Empire as Satan just as Lincoln wasn't comparing The USA to Satan. My bet is that there was no intention to send us scrambling through the Bible but I could be wrong.
For the sake of argument lets go a little further into this Sunday School lesson. In one of Drew's Oolite novels there was a huge clue that referenced a Bible passage. The Thargoids kept repeating the phrase ‘VULGATE! DUO, QUINDECIM, NOVEM!’
The Vulgate is a particular Latin translation of the Old and New testaments. Duo, of couse, is the number 2, Quindecim is 15 and Novem is 9. The characters ascertain that this number refers to the Book 2 of the Bible (Exodus) Chapter 15, verse 9: "The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them." Not exactly something you want to hear from a Thargoid.
It is not without merit to assume that Drew might be pointing us to the Bible as a clue. If (BIG IF) that is the case then it is very likely those three verse numbers (12:25, 3:25, 11:17).
EDIT: As an aside the context of Mark 3:15 is Jesus being accused of being in league with the Devil after casting a demon out of someone who is possessed. Could Salome be 'possessed'? Octavia?
In the wrong system,,,I'm that slowly growing glop of dots on EDD SW of H&S chasing proof for the existence of a new Eden on the far outer Formidine.
Given Drew's "look to the sky" [possible reference to "look to the stars", an S-Club 7 90's reference, a pop group unknown out of the former now sunken Bartish Isle's I believe they were called, though Salome did visit Londen the Venice of 3302] the structured search of Eafots may be incorrectly focused.
If its something to see looking outwards would it not stand to reason a very similar view would be available in surrounding systems up to how far away from the best view 20, 50 100 light years? Break the sector down into cubes to go to the center of each, get away from the glare of the star and have a good 360x360 look at the skybox? Look to your six, back through the H&S? Look at heading 325?
Salome/Kahina/Octavia,,,, she's who she is now. I doubt she can be fixed so it's a moot point. Are you thinking something like Aria in Children of Dune?
Probably is more about Lincoln and re-reading that Galnet doesn't really fit Salome in other details other than we know she's gone. Considering her embarrassing behaviour she'd be treated like Fergie, let's pretend she doesn't exist, and would never be described as important or close in any way. Is the Emperor married with children, she's got to be watching her back. What plays could Petreus be making to get to the throne. Need a murder board to keep track of all them,,,Trello?
It's an idea that several people consider viable and enticing; especially those who have hung there between the nebulae.
Although the 'Mediterranean' that hangs behind them is EAFOTS sot he theory doesn't really help narrow things down, given the hundreds of thousands of stars encompassed.
I don't think EAFOTS/Heart and Soul was intended as a clue for those of us already involved in the Rift investigation. Rather it, and the subsequent posts regarding Salome/Kahina and her background, are designed to draw new people into the mystery. If you haven't read Reclamation and/or this thread, then prior to the EAFOTS post, then you would have no way of knowing that there is even a region called the Formidine Rift.
Those of us who were already aware, were already looking in the right direction - as described by the RR line - EAFOTS just brings that direction to a wider audience. Basically, I don't think there's anything to actually find in EAFOTS, and I won't be at all surprised to see a future Galnet post which pushes the focus to the other side of the Rift.

I agree but I think Eafots is the next crossing point.
I.e follow the R-R line, we do that then we change direction to the outer arm but where ???.
At Heart and Soul and into Eafots according to the latest clue.
From there we plot out to the galactic arm.
I think its important for any pilots out there to get to Eafots and plot across the rift to the arm from Eafots.
Our next clue Im hoping will narrow down the 3rd coordinate within the galactic plain, are we going up as it were or down or just heading at the same level as Eafots.
Same level as Eafots leads to Myoidee where there are many Carbon-Ammonia life based planets and many terraformables.
In fact that whole area appears to be full of life and the potential for life.
On 03-09-3302 A gathering of Commanders took place at Mackenzie Relay, the location of the recent abduction of Commander Salomé of the Children of Raxxla.
