Hello Commander SWABteam!
We are talking about the ability to have a ship stored at a distant location transported to your current location. The same for stored modules.
Hello Sandro,
I still did not vote .... cant decide yet!
you say tranport to your
current location, what happens when I order at 1 station and then move to a different station or even a different system? Will the ship be transferred to the station I made the order or the station I am now or near to when I am at supercriuse?
Also about the delay: you are talking about bulk vessels that make the transfer, it did make me think about companies like UPS, FEDEX , DHL (I am using them at work).
They offer fast transportation of goods all over the globe. Depending on how fast you need your parts you can choose different services
f.e UPS is offering:
UPS STANDARD (EXPEDITED) the slowest and cheapest (USA to EU in 4-6 days)
UPS EXPRESS SAVER , faster and middle price range (USA to EU normally 2-3 days till the end of the day)
UPS EXPRESS, very fast but expensive (USA to EU 2 days before lunch time)
UPS EXPRESS PLUS, extremely fast but very expensive (USA to EU ... dont know did not use that)
Instead of having a fixed rate and time scale this realistic concept could be used in game by f.e. by the imaginary ..... USTS (UNITED SHIP TRANSPORTATION SERVICE).
Depending on his needs the CMDR. could choose cheap but slow transportation, or faster but more expensive, or very fast but VERY expensive transportation of his ships.
I think 3 services would be enough:
slow: 4 hour to 1 day (in bouble)
MEDIUM: 20 min to 100 min (in bouble)
FAST: 5 min - 20 min (in bouble)
And perhaps someday we can see the USTS ships fly around.
Just my 2 cents, maybe its a bad idea or we should just stay with instant transportation to get some speed in the gameplay.....
