It wasn't a takeover bid, there are probably Competition Rules against monopolising hyperdrive tech, possibly put in place by Pilots Federation (who are the only people allowed to monopolise hyperdrive tech lol)

I think that's the implication- they are diverting funds into massively expanded research programmes because they know it is going to be needed soon (& therefore there are imminent profits to be made from doing so). The source of that information is the interesting point, because whoever it is knows much more than is being made public; perhaps Salome knows & that's why she's been silenced. Hence the suggestion to go back and check through the local news postings in the systems of those organisations in the hope we may find another clue.

I know a million different ideas were thrown at this but here's mine. Please don any tinfoil regalia you have at your disposal. I've chosen a tinfoil tutu, in case you were curious.
I googled ebp and got a lot of results for evidence based practice and a man's initials who was a evolution theorist similar to Darwin but nothing too interesting. I then decided to just try and get a numerical value for the letters and came across a site that converts a base 26 alphabet into base 10 decimal numbers, with the result of 3448 for ebp. Now I went on the assumption that it could be a biblical reference again and came up with John 3-4 verse 48. Verse 48 states: “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”
That's it, that's all I got. I was just putting it out there. Might not help but it doesn't hurt to share either. It is interesting though if that's what it actually references to.

This map only covers 'named' sectors - the largest 'regions' are not shown, e.g. Eafots
I redid the map so that the line gets overdrawn by the sectors, the only one it actually passes through is NGC 663

Don't be too worried about 'rubbish'. There was a time when we were all hopping down the "EBP" rabbit trail. Its always good to go back to the first post and see if your going down previously explored ideas.
Yea I definitely need to refresh my memory about everything that's been gone over. I was playing back when this was figured out and some how forgot. It's probably because I noticed it again in that galnet post and subsequently thought it hadn't been deciphered. My mistake. This mystery is quite complex with many moving pieces. I don't know how I'm ever going to create a link analysis chart around it. Time will tell I guess.
Eclipsing binary pulsar, anyone?
I need to do a bit of back tracking to find a few star systems, but one thing I thought was a Discovery Scanner bug was that "unexplored" would randomly flash in order down the Locations list upon jumping into some systems before scanning. In some of those systems, a ton of Unexplored planets/stars would pop up and in others where this anomaly occurred no planets/stars would after scanning, but the flashing/scrolling unexplored would happen every time I jumped in to the same systems, and I'm beginning to wonder if there are some planets out there that are made to not be picked up by the ADS and the only way to notice them is by scanning for objects visually and using parallax. Worth a shot at least. I have found various star systems where there is a ton of anomalous Nav Panel behavior, others medium or light, some with none. The really light behavior is just an occasional blink of the less than symbol next to the next plotted star system which I thought last night maybe it was a small indicator like bread crumbs guiding me but didn't have enough time as I only got to do 2 jumps after thinking that.
A few possibilities for what the behavior could be if its intentional, still no confirmation it is a bug or not.

Mu Koji (where the community goal is) is roughly between Tionisla and Cemiess. Maybe the Feds and Imps are secretly fighting over/because of what Salome discovered there or in the vicinity of that location. Just a thought. Sorry if this has already been stated.

Try plotting them in 3D & see if there's a pattern. If they form a sphere then I would suggest "it" is near the centre

Something occured to me while watching the Simpsons today (since it's there referenced in latin).. There is 1938's song 'Heart and Soul' by Hoagy Carmichael (according to wiki, that is). I know it's stupidly crazy idea, but just for the off chance.. I'll try is there is any connection in game like system name or something, one may never know how drunk devs were on that particular day when they placed this mystery content
