No but you seem to know what quote I'm on about so what's the point?

The point is that it was mentioned as part of a brainstorming post regarding Powerplay - and very quickly pointed out to be inconsistent with Frontier's stated position that all game modes are equal and valid, that they have no plans to incentivise any game mode and they are aware that not all players agree with that stance.
 
I'm all for incentives... As long as there isn't Open-only content.

1.5 multiplier on trade profits in Open? Sure, I can live with that.

But that's not stopping the same gameplay with standard rewards in Solo.

Won't work so simple just because open for exploitation.
Buy open , change mode, fly what you like, change mode, sell.

He didn't - Devs have made those statements though, prior to Sandro's comment - take a look in the OP of the Hotel California thread - if you can't find them there (or in Jockey's Wall-of-Text™), let me know and I'll dig them out....

I know those statments have been made but have they specificly stated they won't incentivise certain modes? I mean right now if anything doing a CG in solo is incentivised as there is a smaller chance of going boom.

Yeah this is very valid point. The risk reward balance is heavily out of whack due to this. Maybe we need wing bonuses that go beyond just selling of commodities?

The solo bears would have a right tantrum but, let them.

Will at any time solo and private group play be separated into a different universe/database from open play? It's kind of cheap that you can be safe from many things in solo, like player blockades and so on, and still affect the same universe.

Are you in a position to confirm that group switching between the three game modes will remain as a feature of the game?
We're not planning on changing that.

I know you said that solo/group and open will always use the same universe, can you also say that there will be no specific perks in playing in one mode over another? i.e bigger profit from trading in open or bigger bounties?
None are planned at the moment.

Is there planned to be any defense against the possibility that player created minor factions could be destroyed with no possible recourse through Private Groups or Solo play?

From the initial inception of the game we have considered all play modes are equally valid choices. While we are aware that some players disagree, this hasn't changed for us.

ATM if you blow up a wanted ship in a wing you share the bounty with your wingmen, so the current incentive is to fight solo.

Wing trades are very small (unless your wingman is in a cutter :)). Maybe they can increase the rewards for these activities without causing too much crying?

The first three are in the spoiler in the OP of the Hotel California thread. I actually had to resort to Google for the last one. :)

Sandro might be in favour of a higher weighting to Powerplay merits delivered in Open - it remains to be seen if the concept can progress past theorising.

I dunno what's wrong with your space buddy. When I log on I see my friends all in open, bar 1. Lots of CMDRs in Empire space. About 150lyrs outside the bubble looking for mining areas and I find a CMDR in system. Gave a quick o7 and got one back.

Well, you've piqued my interest. So, here I am... taking a look at our player numbers in solo vs open for xbox one here. I can simply say this: Even during non-peak hours for Xbox One, Open play still has more (a lot more than "dead", and a lot more than solo) players on it than solo.

Space is a big place, check out the ongoing CG's, get to know some people.
