Why would you be able to see a sixpack? Are you planning on your character being the interstellar version of the guy who drives around without a shirt on? Is character creation going to include accessories like brown bagged cans of Busch light?

Fully agree with this. It only need be getting out of a chair and walking around one of the larger cockpits to get everyone buzzed for it. The crazy thing is they used to do that hype before (especially pre launch) so it's not without precedent.

At a guess I would say 2.3 will be out in 3 months with 2.4 and 3.0 coming in 6 months which could be space legs.
All speculation though.

More likely 2.3 around March and 2.4/3.0 in june

The project got cancelled by EA or whoever it was, but I'm sure they can take advantage of some of that development for fps mode in Elite.
True but I would hope that they wouldn't listen to a bunch of trolls
I could be way off base but I think they see that at this point they have a core fanbase who will be quietly content and a small but vocal minority who will tear everything to shreds in a loud, long and extremely impolite manner. That's got to be fatiguing - witness the mods' reluctance to continue with the newsletter or Sandro's frustration at some of the questions when they livestream. If I were a Frontier developer (that sounds like a wild west job title) I would want to start keeping things quiet too.

Right? I was expecting weird video-game-character-gen faces, like in Bethesda games where you always end up, after hours of tweaking, with a face not even a mother could love, but these look almost designed. I get that they're probably like the idealised photos of food in takeaways but still.
Looks good to me.
I will playing around with that character creator for hours.
I hope we will be able to make little changes later, even after we have committed to our character.
Or they might add a plastic surgeon to the game, or something like that.
It would be terrible if we would be stuck with a character we don't like anymore.
