So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Stupid question... Are people listening when in systems? The audio crew for this game are sensational at their jobs, and considering the amount of detail that goes into the sounds (pull up nice and close to an ELW, drop out of SC, and just sit there pointed at the planet a while and listen - the soundtrack is incredible), I wouldn't be surprised it we are more likely to "hear" something out of place, or interesting than to see it. Even on the galaxy map, you can hear the different stars when you hover your cursor over them.

Z...

But it could be found in Gamma based on the clues from the book, that's why I don't think EAFOTS is a new clue for those already in pursuit.

Well, I have been hearing sounds - like strange blips and stuff but I chalked them up to bugs. Slightly different FSD exit sounds and stuff.

I believe its a clue and the next heading it also leads to a rift, an uncrossable one.

Drew said the rift on the map is almost correct. I think.Eafots clue was designed to direct us to where the rift is.

If you try and go across even with an engineered ship its impossible to cross.

The Heisenberg is just the closest crossing towards that area in between the two arms, there are tons of crossings around that area though.

Its when you head through Eafots that the rift becomes extremely apparant. There is a very distinct gap of emptiness that is closer to the edge of the rift on the map we have.

There are plenty of stars on either side and can you can try and cross from either side but you wont.

Its definitely a more apparant rift through the Eafots sector and into Myoidee and beyond.

If its more recent and its put in by Fdev then its put in for a reason. Drew wrote the book before the game was finished, it stands to reason the R-R line is not an ideal clue but a pointer.

Heart and Soul and Eafots are further pointers due to the nature of game development and writing a story prior to the games release.

Its certainly around the R-R line but I very much doubt its on it.

Eafots is the best pointer we have for now and Im pretty certain its not in Eafots either.

The problem is the longer we don't find it the more likely Patreus will come out on top. He definitely knows and is up to something. It was probably a member of the Patreus family who ordered the memory wipe of the old lady.

The old lady could even be a relation to Patreus or one of the Imp familys, why else keep her alive !!

Tinfoil is strong in this one. Come, join the dark side, we have cookies. :D

But don't forget the "they" the old lady talks about doesn't only involves Empire but also Feds and probably Aliance too. I half expect that any moment Federation gets their filthy pawns into business toon. My pet theory though is that there is INRA involved behind the scene.

Yeah the Feds were involved but I feel the Imps seem to have a greater involvement.

Whatever it is its dodgy

I would pay more attention to these than anything else, to be honest. Audio is the least bugged aspect of this game, as far as I have seen, not to mentioned incredibly intricate and detailed.

Fly for 10 or 20k LS away from the star any any system, especially towards the rim, drop out of SC, and point to the centre of the galaxy, go into debug view, and listen. Then slowly move the camera towards empty space and not the difference. The sound becomes much more cold and eerie. It's incredibly cool.

I wouldn't be surprised if some strange new sound is the first sign to pay closer attention in the area where you are.

Tip of by Zulu Romeo in the UA thread.

Vain Queen = Cassiopeia
Giraffe = Camelopardalis
Daughtet = Andromerda
Hero = Perseus

But, why does the giraffe remember the hero?
So, Cassiopeia rides Camelopardalis, who remembers that Andromeda's hero is Perseus (sorry, I look to have this stuff easier to read, save using my very limited brain power on constantly substituting).

So, erm.. Science?
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe...ssiopeia_IAU.svg/603px-Cassiopeia_IAU.svg.png

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassiopeia_(constellation)

Perhaps that helps?

Edit - looking at the constellation (obviously form Earth), perhaps we need to align the stars so that Cassiopeia is on Camelopardalis' "back" (if that is possible) and thus Andromedaand Perseus need to be near the "head" of Camelopardalis. maybe this helps give us a direction to look at.

I need to mess with EDSM, can't remember if it's possible to mark specific stars with specific colours...

Well, the Perseus arm is part of the region we've been exploring, I'm not sure how the rest of it fits in yet.

I do feel like I should share this again, I was travelling to the EAFOTS EB-P systems. I forget why EB-P was important right now (tired brain), The systems have already been explored but when I bookmarked them on the galactic map, they form a triangle.

I don't know if this has been pointed out before, but maybe it's helpful? One of the points is aimed at the Perseus arm (the others are at the bubble and the edge of the galaxy).

Actually, I had noticed this the other day, and am making my way in the direction at the moment, but it is quite interesting...

Though, I think "Perseus" here is talking of the constellation, not the arm.

Could be. What I'm thinking, Kahina visited Sol and then a few other systems. What if she was looking at these constellations? Obviously in Sol she'd see them as we know them here on Earth, but something that makes up the constellation is what has her interest and she wanted to see it from different places?

And what if something about what she was looking at changed (a star disappearing or something like that?), thus she needed to be in the right place at the right time to see it? It would explain her not wanting to be late.

Possible... Things is, those constellations are made up of stars with wildly varying distances from Earth, so moving around too much will mess them up. Of course, this could be the point...

I just hit ANOTHER dead end in exploring and attempting to get through the area, and I was about to just give up and head back in to the Bubble... but then I jumped in CQC and got some aggression out so I'm back to trying to figure out how the "core of the problem" "read between the lines" and following the R-R line out until the stars thin out then "wanderlust"ing about until something(?!?!?!) comes out among the things some have apparently come across before but didn't realize at the time.

So, I guess there is something that may pop up towards the core between the top and bottom of the galaxy if the R-R line is followed out until the stars thin out. And its going to be Sea Monkeys. That's it.

Has anyone looked at the area horizontally? So far everything we see is top down (map wise), and I'm wondering if we also need to look at "section diagram" type views.

BTW - I never see anyone out here, are all you guys in Solo or something? I can't believe that of the hundreds of explorers on my friends list, not a single one is around the rift...

Rift? Nah, nothing out there.
:)

'The vain queen rides a giraffe that remembers her daughter's hero.'

The three constellations in question are adjacent to each other.

And... yet another Kahina article on Galnet

Galactic News: Acrimony on Achenar
01 OCT 3302
An anonymous source has indicated that the scandal surrounding former senator Kahina Tijani Loren has awoken latent animosity within the Imperial powerbase.

The source claims that recent events have brought the affairs of Admiral Denton Patreus, Princess Aisling Duval and even Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval into the spotlight, and that much intrigue and politicking is taking place behind closed doors.

Princess Duval, following an embarrassing story from The Imperial Citizen, said: "Isn't it interesting that this happens just as a crisis is developing on our borders? While the media is preoccupied with that psychopathic Loren woman, the real stories are being ignored!"

Neither Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval nor Admiral Denton Patreus deigned to comment on the matter.
