Hello people,
I just wanna know if the great playerbase has forgotten that we can fight interdictions? Or are most people are flying such bad ships that are unable to win it?
Do you actual even try to do it or is it really only about "submit boost submit boost submit boost..."?

I for myself try to fight in most cases the interdiction. If i'm in a good agile ship lime the ASP or the Python or even all medium to small crafts, i don't see a reason why i shouldn't try to avoid any encounter.
If i win the interdiction minigame the annoying NPC is gone and i can continue my journey without further interruptions. But after submit and boost, they are coming back.
Only in some of the big ships that have bad supercruise performance, i don't even try to fight the interdiction (anaconda, T-9, etc....)

Pls post what's your game to handle the minigame and why you use it or the reason for you to just make 'submit boost'.
Tell some stories about your success or fail :)

Depends on the ship I'm flying. I don't even bother in my Cutter. With my Cutter, the minigame is actually boost ramming the Elite FdL's that interdict me and see if they drop my shields by 1 ring or 2 while they make pretty sparkly explosions. Generally far quicker than deploying weapons, pew pew pewing, and then retracting and SCing out.

For my Anaconda, it's green. You don't want to make it angry.

I use it depending on "how scary" the ship interdicting is and what I am pursuing at the time.
I always select the ship when the interdiction starts, and determine if I "want the encouter" or not. Frequently with the mission NPCs, I want the encounter for the bonus.

The mini-game is a tool, I think you would be mad to just put it to one side and treat every NPC the same.

I had great fun yesterday. I had a few "Trade Data" runs and also some Occupied Escape pods on board to open up the Dweller. The mission NPC was a bit tuff for the ship I was in, and on top of that the Security turning up was not exactly my "saviour" as a scan would get me a fine. Balancing when to fight, based on "on the shipping lanes or not", rep with controlling faction was great fun.

Won a few mini-games, but an E/D rated Cobra it turns out is not that hot in SC! I lost one so had to fight, had the NPC down to 14% when the security turned up - boosted away and they finished him off, giving me the mission bonus and the bounty, but had to use silent running and boost to get back into SC to avoid the scan.

It was a fun 40 mins across 4 systems before I finally nailed him.

Still here.

Still fighting the Interdictions.

Still laughing at anyone who complains it can't be beaten.

Still winning even in the fat lumbering T series.

Went back to playing the hunter today. Boy was I out of practice.

Had some unusual NPCs who were quick to snag me while I was stuck in the stars' gravity well lately though. They managed to actually yank me a few times in a row. Was slightly unsettling but a few slings later I was laughing at the NPCs who thought they could catch me again. Getting caught in a gravity well is a pain.

I stopped "playing" it once I was in an Cobra MKIII. Just "Stop, Drop, and Boost"TM

I couldn't help but notice that the Gents from FD still "play" the game. Didn't work out too well for them.;)

Voted "Yes". I still do the minigame.

I usually fly a Dropship, and I'm Elite in combat so I'm only interdicted by Deadly and elite ships.
When I don't want to be interdicted, I fight it, and win maybe 95% of the time (100% when I'm flying a smaller ship). When I lose, it's often to a small nimble ship that I can easily kill.

The rest of the time, I submit, scan and kill the attacker if he's wanted or starts shooting, and continue on my journey.

I also interdict a lot of ships of various size, especially ranked Dangerous and above, because the bounties are higher.

Can't remember the last time I fought an interdiction.

I always submit and kill or run, depending on the mood.

Yesterday, I tried to fight one for the fun of it ... and lost - have the ships always spun so fast for what seems like a full 30 seconds ? Just seems comically fast and much faster than I remember.

Since I'm exclusively flying Imperial ships (Clipper / Courier), I mostly just submit and boost - Due to the raw speed of my ships they almost never get a single shot fired off, before I'm out of their range.

The only time I bother to fight the interdiction, is if I'm close to my destination - I do that because submitting would result in kicking me further away from the destination.

I fight it usually. I've got many ships now. I've been Dicted in all of them. But I still can't work out how my ship or their ship has any effect on winning or losing the interdiction. I keep the escape vector in my sights and hope for the best. I win some and lose some but i have no idea how or why i win or lose. 🤔 Is it mass, speed, ship type?? I think its a roll of a dice. If i knew i could choose to fight or submit.

It IS winnable but the total randomness of it and the penalty for failing is just so not totally worth it.

I just submit most of the time and adjust accordingly (boost/lo-wake/hi-wake/fight) depending on the circumstances (ship I'm flying, enemy ships, what I was doing, etc).

no, don't do the minigame. loose and kill the interdictor.

with this he stays away for the rest of the journey (i never had one of those undead, come back after kill ones)

this i found to be the most effective way (with mine layers) in 2.1.
2.2 will change NPC behavior and tactics need to adapt.

Sometimes I fight the minigame but most of the time NPCs are trying to interdict me when I'm about to jump to another system and if the escape vector is lined up close enough to your target system then you can take a heading that allows you to jump and break the interdiction. I have been able to win the minigame even flying my Anaconda and T9 - more massive ships can be harder to interdict, although Eagles seem to be very good at the minigame no matter what I'm flying. It is harder to avoid a target trying to get on your six in a large ship, though.
.
Whether I submit or fight is partly down to what I know in advance of the interdicting ship and depends on what I'm flying. Highly-ranked FDLs, Clippers and FASs are the main dangers for the kinds of ship I usually fly around the bubble in. Mostly, I prefer to fight the minigame as I'm seldom looking for combat but once in a while I'll get fed up with it, submit and deploy hardpoints - even my T9 is armed and able to take on a couple of Cobras or Vipers. If I'm interdicted by a ship that is a threat and lose the minigame, then most of my ships are either fast enough or tough enough to survive until I can either high-wake or low-wake out. Against players, I have only occasionally won the minigame since they get into a good position before starting the interdiction - evasive action is crucial when you see someone trying to get behind you.

I never bother fighting it I just submit every time. What follows that submission will depend on the attacker, the ship I'm flying, how much data/cargo I stand to loose. Boost and run is dull but yes I do this sometimes but will fight if I think it is viable.
