I followed the instructions on the possible cure foe slow downloads and it suggested disabling my Firewall. Not made a speck of a difference and I don't think its a good idea to leave it disabled for the next few days while this downloads. Bit peaved with the Devs for this. They must have foreseen the huge load on the download servers on release day.

DBOBE was on livestream earlier and gave a clue to why .. The new build is propagating servers, filling caches and then couples with the massive load hit, that happens when everyone jumps in now after 6pm Europe, and as the USA is also starting to come online, afternoon. Essentially saying it speeds up after a day or two due to caching, who can wait that long? If a release day is an occasion though, I reckon a super slo-mo update is all part of the experience (or something like that) (maybe).

Must .. stay .. strong.

I still haven't found any installations yet or any fighter bays for my keelback yet. This might be a stupid question but has anyone found out how to filter out star type on the galaxy map? I can't seem to find out how. I've also seen the neutron star effects and they're amazing.

Over 100MBs connection here. The launcher says 3 days to download. This isn't really acceptable.

Well we've waited 10 months for a single update, of which the most exciting thing is some quality of life improvements. What's another 3 days in the grand scheme of things...

I clicked out of the download (top right) and started the "1st page" again, went to options, clicked on alternative download. It restarted where it had left off but my download time was now in hours not days. Worth a try.

Was 0.07 now anywhere between 2.07 down to 0.50's.

I have good network connections on everything else. So taking my FD frustrations out on my PS4.

Legend, that's speeded it up. It's still dire, just not as dire :)

This is just a very bad management policy!! Every update it's a never ending process of waiting, connection closes and so on.... !! It's always the same thing, hasn't FD made enough money from micro transactions to update the servers?? It's just down right pathetic!! I don't usually trash developers but it's been like this since season 1!! Every update!!

Am I the only one who uses Steam to download major updates? Not that I needed to in this case since I had it from the beta, but Steam just decided to re-download 2.2 so yay.
But atleast that's running with 12mb/s which is what the connection can do : /

I guess it must depend on where you live. I was astonished this morning to be able to download the update in less than 5 minutes. I've never seen any update downloading so fast. And no, it was not over files from the beta, right over the 2.1 official release.

Very unkind.... never thought Frontier as been Trash Dev's .. team is limited , funds are limited , time and servers are expensive .. Support from player base , will only improve things over time

Having said all that , I myself have constantly argue for improvements to certain key aspect of ED , not to expose flaws in the team or its equipment, but for the greater good of gameplay and players , and ultimately ED

... AND , now I ask , where is my MAT STORAGE ... !! [haha]

This is the first upgrade I have experienced in this game and it was fast and trouble-free. I was quite impressed considering how many people would be downloading it.
