So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Yes, i think all commanders are clones as we dont seem to have escape pods and when we die we appear at the station we were last in with no time lost.

"'Trader Fields', she said, and touched the heel of her right hand to her left shoulder by way of salute. 'My given name is Elyssia. Elyssia Fields.' She smiled again. 'My brood mother's little joke. She discovered Greek mythology at age 9 when she was incubating her first cluster.'

Brood mother? Greek? Incubating clusters? That meant that Elyssia Fields was from Teorge, the so-called 'clone-world'. Alex struggled to remember what he'd been taught about Teorge… an inhabited world… settled by two colony ships that had proceeded to clone a select few of the crew and colonists, killing the others. For centuries Teorge had been a world apart, cut off from the normal flow of trade and commerce, and banned from sending representatives into space.

Elyssia Fields was clearly a fugitive."

The previous encrypted kibble Iposted was;

Perseus is the unknown known. It is the most obvious answer to the riddle to be used as the keyword to the encrypted text obtained from tows ship.
We know the heros name but it has not been mentioned as the key. The encrypted text is the known unknown.
The jinx is mentioning how hard it could be to get into the graveyard.
The scenario I envision: hard to find in the first place, is permited, must rank up with some faction to get permit,
is actively patroled, scanning not allowed, may need to sneak in on silent running, other impediments.
Once decoded is just another stepping stone and adds more questions.
If you have decoded this before guardians please keep it to yourself to not jinx it. It is on your head.
Did this for amusement of stirring the pot while we wait.
,,,,,

Currently think the entire vain queen sentence is the key,,,

Tionisla Graveyard jinx step 1 finding it. Anyone got any ideas, like determining possible lagrange points it could be suspended at, tourist beacons, any beacons, follow tourist ships, science ships,,,???

I believe I've found something in Formidine... A bug [big grin]

It seems that some black squares are not rendered, even in the game. If you go to Hypheeg WF-A c16-1, and look at Hypheeg BX-P B37-0, you will see this black dot (inside the yellow circle):

At the beginning I though that the black dot was something that doesn't appear in the maps. Then I realized that the same happens when you use the map of the galaxy... :( For an instant, you can see the black squares again. You have a capture here:

And a video here:

I've heard that it's a bug, initially I thought it was Cassiopeia A, but if you travel to a near system, the black dot disappears. Anyway I've thought that at least it would be fine to say what has been boring and annoying me for two days. Try to reproduce it in the bubble.

My hope is that it's part of a conspiracy of the Federation of Pilots to hide something, but... I'm not optimistic. By the way I'm in the area where Cassiopeia A should be. Hi Jaiotu, if you want I can post this in the thread of the expedition.

So my 2.2 download is currently reporting 13 hours to complete.

I officially hate you all.

Update:
Make that 2 days

Try cancelling it, going to the options menu in the launcher and choosing alternate download. I did that and it finished in 20 mins after saying 0.05mbs before.

I'll make a mention. Black dots in the galaxy map would lead me to believe something was being edited out (CONSPIRACY!) but if they are showing up in the cockpit view then that would be unlikely. Just a test: smash your canopy and see if the black spot is still there. If something else (a star!) shows up in place of the black dot then their using a black dot HUD element to hide it from us (CONSPIRACY!) If, however, the black dot is still visible through the cracked canopy and you die a horrifying lonely death in the depths of space then it's just a bug. For science! :)

That made it change to 5 days - but thanks for the suggestion

Okay, so now the regular download won't connect at all, and I'm getting 0.02MB from the alternate.

Or... Just external camera view.

So, something new to keep an eye out for, assuming it's not a fake.

That sounds sensible...

... I say smash the canopy to be sure!

Kinda hard to do without a ship firing at you, though!!!

this is why we need atmospheric planets, though. If we do get a smashed canopy, we can set up a trail of planets with Oxygen atmospheres, and hop back to the bubble system by system, with 7 minutes between breathes...

No, I won't smash my canopy! [squeeeee]

You have an external view. From 2.1 (I have another from 2.2, if that's a bug, it hasn't been fixed).

I may have seen another point in a different system, I'm not sure. I saw it playing with gamma values. It's next to the yellow central dot.

I can always report it as a bug... if you tell me how to do that.

See you tomorrow. [redface] zzzzz
