The Return of 1k Delivery Missions

Ahwell, RIP Sothis and Ceos runs or ANY decent runs that I can find also :( SOOOO glad I just lived on Elite as often/long as possible doing them runs for near 2 months (got me (all a1)Python, Conda, Vulture and finished Asp + miner outfits with the priciest modules) with a nice insurance block to spare 😆 but have to agree that it serves ppl right for whining to nurf decent haulage missions- to THIS I say WHY?? Didn't you have any cargo or a half decent ship to do the runs yourself?! You poo in the pool cause YOU can't swim?! Bleugh!! Anyhow it's done now (Well done whingers!!) too bad but I got ma gear and I'm back to exploring soon when I've dabbled sufficiently in the bubble post 2.2...

It totally does my head in that FD operate like this. They spend weeks in beta, tweaking, testing and balancing then just throw in a total re-bodge on mission balance and NPC interdictions as soon as it goes live. Didn't see that one in the patch notes.
 
Given the fact I'm now on day 2 of trying to start this download, I think I'm just gonna not bother for awhile until a few patches drop to fix these issues. Granted, even if they fix this I'm sure they're just going to bring the missions back up to the levels of where they were in beta. Which mean my career as a Smuggler is still just as dead as it is now. I hope I'm wrong though but... Kinda doubt it
 
I cleared my save yesterday for the first time since the Beta wipe. I decided that this was a good time to start fresh and climb my way back to the top. I played for 4 hours straight last night and have 39k CR in the bank and 59K in total assets(D class PowerPlant/FSD/Thrusters/PowerDistributor). Now, I know that the pay will increase with rank/rep but for new players that are just starting in the game, they are going to get really frustrated with the current payouts. I read in this thread that this is being looked into and that this happened with the 2.1 release as well but I just wanted to voice my opinion that this is not good for new Cmdrs. I hope this is just a bug and pay will go back to what it was. I will say that I am having a blast being back in the Sidewinder and building up rep/rank. Other than the mission payouts, this is a fine update and I am excited to be starting fresh in this wonderful Galaxy.

Listen, I understand nerfing Sothis/Ceos runs. But did the other missions in the bubble really need to be nerfed too? Have already visited several stations and am seeing countless missions rewarding 1-10k credits. Just why.

I noticed that too, I can ONLY think of one reason that missions should be "nerfed" so hard. That is to slow players progress through the game and to slow the consumption of content by extending the grind.... Now, That is all well and good if it was an equal playing field but NOT when a large chunk of players are already multi "A" rated ship owners with a few hundred mil in the bank....

I am not in the latter group, have a different mind set than most, I prefer to learn my role AND ship, then progress (not into the headlong rush to max everything), but this only serves the end gamers, not the little fish. A dayx work for a days pay is how I prefer to do things, this is just shoddy design.

Rumour has it that exploration payouts have also been nerfed. Like they really needed to be (I got just 70M for a 300,000 Lightyear round trip of the galaxy which took 3 months). I then made 320M at Morai in the last 4 hours of the CG!

The word balance is like a foreign language to FDEV...

But still, Poop missions gave level payouts. Shipping poop 300Ly for TENS OF MILLIONS??? JUST.... WHY? They needed to be batted into oblivion, IMO.
