The ruins in my understanding are the following
These ruins are most likely alien origin but not from aliens that live now its an ancient race
a precursor of the current races of the Milky way Galaxy they either got wiped out by another ancient race
or just died out
Thees ruins are most likely the remains of an outpost that way used to store data hence the small obelisk's
the precursor's used what we call relic's as power sources i'm not 100% sure on this but possible
the other thing like the tablet the totem etc are items they used possibly in their everyday life,
what happened to it i don't know there is no much to go on but 1 thing that i'm sure of these ruins
are most likely have 0 connection to either the thargoids or whoever sent the probes to the palisade.

One of the "blocks", activates on proximity and it displays a pattern of triangles, which may well be a message of some type:

Why do you think those two things are exclusive in any way? Do only humans do straight lines in all of the galaxy?

I think the ruins look too old for this theory to work. It's an airless world so erosion will be very slow. If it is one of "The Missing" groups, then why all the strange triangle based symbolism and not some good old-fashioned latin script? Way more likely to be alien, IMHO.

No obviously I do not know if we are, but I am conscious of not using the T word and although it is entirely possible, maybe even probable that the other alien races in the game would make use of angular structures, it feels to me more "human" (even if that means we got the idea from these being originally).
Though as I have been saying for around 10 months now, we still have encountered the missing yet...

It might be a bit of a sod to try to attach meaning, as the triangles constantly change. It looks more like a 3 "digit" display which is in a wait state.
Hopefully doing something to it/near it would cause those 3 symbols to solidify?

and there are no pyramids in any way there - earth's ancient pyramids are four sided structures too
not trying to be a pain just let's focus our reasoning. this thread often descends into deep tinfoil and there are things we can write off right now if we don't jump to conclusions
Te animated triangle symbols on the obelisk look like the scanning animated icon we get in our own ship doesn't it?
